The US government will assist the pharmaceutical corporations in finding prescription drugs to treat new diseases.

The focus of this collaboration will identify new uses for drugs that have already been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). There may be need for new human trials, putting the general public at a health risk. Engaging in experimental trials to classify specific compounds to be utilized for unintended purposes is highly dangerous.

Genetic engineering has led researchers to discover over 4,500 diseases that need pharmaceutical drugs to combat.

‘We need to speed the pace at which we are turning discoveries into better health outcomes,’ said Dr. Francis Collins, of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). ‘NIH looks forward to working with our partners in industry and academia to tackle an urgent need that is beyond the scope of any one organization or sector.’

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) will begin working with Pfizer Inc, AstraZeneca Plc and Eli Lilly and Co. in agreements to create compounds to be made available for trial use in a planned project.

‘Americans are eagerly awaiting the next generation of cures and treatments to help them live longer and healthier lives,’ Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said in a statement. ‘To accelerate our nation’s therapeutic development process, it is essential that we forge strong, innovative, and strategic partnerships across government, academia, and industry.’

The pharmaceutical corporations are able to manipulate the FDA because the regulatory agency does not conduct independent studies on trial results. They simply accept the findings of the drug companies on their own trials.

Currently, the vitamin industries, by order of the Codex Alimentarius (CA) are being attacked by the US government to justify the force outlawing of natural medicine use.

The CA is a creation of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The CA seeks to enforce international standards and codes on nations in a securitization of the world’s food supply.

By controlling the means of food production, transportation and distribution, the CA will ensure the standards set forth by the UN are the basis for all national legislation.

Obama signed Executive Order (EO), Establishing the National Prevention, Health Promotion and Public Health Council in 2010.

Through this EO, Obama empowered the CA to enact the UN’s plan for worldwide food standards.

The National Prevention, Health Promotion, and Public Health Council was created to assist Obama in destroying the alternative health industry.

Congress fought the use of CA policy as the foundation for an attempt by the federal government to remove the American public’s ability to purchase vitamin supplements by deeming those remedies as “unscientific”. Since the FDA have consistently claimed that these alternatives have no medicinal value and decried their daily use a danger to a healthy lifestyle, social stigmas have served to aid Obama in declaring them useless. Obama suggests that their potency be changed to ultra-low levels in compound mixtures.

While the Obama administration seeks to wipe out the natural medicine industry, the US government is pouring money and resources into the genetic engineering of pharmaceuticals to combat disease.

When natural remedies are completely outlawed, the general public will be forced to take drugs rather than heal through diet and vitamins.

The medical agenda is clear.

The relationship between the US government and the drug corporations created by Obama has laid the foundation for medical tyranny.

Statins, Chronic Disease — and the Definition of Insanity – Health Stew – Boston.com.

Two recent developments — an advisory from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and one new study — caught my attention over the past week. This involves cardiovascular disease (CVD), statin drugs, type II diabetes, patient education and empowerment, and more. Neither seemed to get much attention, and to my knowledge, no one connected the dots between them. So let me give a try.

First, on Feb. 28, the FDA announced the development of new warning labels for cholesterol-lowering statin drugs, warning of the risk of type II diabetes and memory loss from taking the drugs. FDA pegged the risk as “small,” but read a bit from this New York Times analysis by Eric J. Topol and judge for yourself:

“Let’s just round this off and say that one in every 200 patients treated with any of the three most potent statins [Lipitor, Crestor, Zocor] will get the side effect of diabetes. That’s quite a conservative number because diabetes was not even being carefully looked for in most of the trials. And we have data for only 5 years of treatment; it might be worse with longer statin therapy.

“More than 20 million Americans take statins. That would equate to 100,000 new statin-induced diabetics. Not a good thing for the public health and certainly not good for the individual affected with a new serious chronic illness.

“If there were a major suppression of heart attacks or strokes or deaths, that might be justified. But in patients who have never had heart disease and are taking statins to lower their risk (so-called primary prevention), the reduction of heart attacks and other major events is only 2 per 100. And we don’t know who the 2 per 100 patients are who benefit or the one per 200 who will get diabetes! Moreover, the margin of benefit to risk is quite narrow.”

100,000 new statin-induced diabetics. Hmmm. I have had more than a few statin-taking friends tell me the drug has no side effects. Yet, more and more reports are challenging that assumption.

Second, a new study in the Journal of General Internal Medicine found that only 10% of patients receiving stents were “presented with options to seriously consider.” Most patients reported talking with their doctors about the reasons for the stents (77%), though only 19% recalled talking about reasons not to do so, and only 16% were asked about treatment preferences.

Treatment preferences? Like what?

Like serious diet, exercise, and other lifestyle changes.

I find it disturbing how little support and direction patients get to help them make lifestyle changes as an alternative to surgery and drugs. It is disturbing that so much of the medical establishment’s message is about “managing and controlling” CVD and diabetes for the millions who suffer from these chronic diseases when both conditions are often reversible. The only options provided to most patients involve surgery, drugs, and maintenance.

Who buys the idea that there are alternatives? Lots and growing numbers of folks. Here are two.

Regarding CVD, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn of the Cleveland Clinic has been working for about 30 years with patients who could easily have gone under the knife, and who chose instead his recommended plant-based, whole-grain diet as an alternative. His book, Preventing and Reversing Heart Disease, describes how his patients go beyond managing chronic disease to reversing it. No surgery, no drugs — and no revenues/profits for hospitals, docs, or drug companies.

Think of it as the choice between the different paths taken by former Vice President Dick Cheney and former President Bill Clinton. Cheney, who had his first heart attack in 1978 at the age of 37 continues to live with the disease, because none of the conventional treatments provide cure, only maintenance. Now consider the alternative — former President Bill Clinton who has embraced a vegan diet and got his weight down to what it was when he was in high school — let’s watch and see if he ever experiences another cardiovascular event again. If he stays with this diet and suffers another heart episode, I’ll gladly eat these words. I don’t think so.

Second, regarding type II diabetes, consider the work of Dr. Neal Barnard, President of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, a national organization of physicians who embrace the plant-based, whole-grain approach to health. Barnard’s book is called Preventing and Reversing Diabetes, and describes his and others’ work with diabetic patients who kicked their disease completely. So much of society’s message on type II diabetes is that it’s a life sentence and irreversible. It’s often not true.

So here’s where I get radical. Over many years, we have developed U.S. food and medical systems with enormous financial stakes in the occurrence and maintenance of chronic diseases which are preventable and reversible. We spend vast sums of money subsidizing a U.S. food system that guarantees an endless flow of new individuals with food-induced chronic disease. (Esselstyn, smartly, calls heart disease a “food-borne illness.”) And then we spend vast sums of money paying for medical services to care for people with these preventable and reversible conditions.

And we spend next to nothing to prevent or reverse these conditions — unless, of course, the preventative is a profitable procedure, drug, or device.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results.”

Here’s an innovation challenge I would like to see: let’s have a national competition to see who can reverse CVD and/or type II diabetes in 1,000 patients and keep them that way for at least five years. Count up the costs and count up the savings.

Let’s begin to kick our drug and surgery habits, and start acting to reverse chronic disease. Let’s change the conversation from managing chronic disease to reversing it.

Now there’s a way to fix U.S. health care.

One of the more recent toxic additions to our food supply is the artificial sweetener called Neotamei.

In the European Union, where it was approved as a flavor enhancer as of November 2010, it is known by its “E number,” E961ii.

Made by NutraSweet (a former division of Monsanto and the original manufacturer of aspartame), neotame is 13,000 times sweeter than table sugar, and about 30 times sweeter than aspartame.

It’s based on the aspartame formula—despite the fact that 80 percent of all FDA complaints pertain to adverse reactions from aspartame.

Neotame is essentially aspartame plus 3,3-dimethylbutyliii–the presence of which ends up reducing the production of phenylalanine, which allegedly makes it safe for those suffering from phenylketonuria (PKU).

(Hence neotame does not need to bear a PKU warning label like aspartame.)

Unfortunately, it may actually be an even more potent and dangerous neurotoxin, immunotoxin and excitotoxin than aspartame.

Proponents of neotame claim that increased toxicity is of no concern because less of it is needed to achieve the desired effect.

Still, Monsanto’s own pre-approval studies of neotame revealed adverse reactions, and there were no independent studies that found neotame to be safe.

On August 16, 2000, the law firm of Hartman & Craven filed comments on the neotame docket pertaining to the lack of safety data submitted in support of neotameiv, stating in part:

“A food additive petition has been submitted to the FDA for the artificial sweetener neotame. In that petition, the sponsor claims the data presented demonstrate that the compound produces no adverse effects at a dose of 1000 mg/kg/day in the rat. The sponsor also claims that the product should be safe for patients with diabetes. A review of the data submitted to the FDA does not support these conclusions.

In fact, no safe human usage level can be determined based on the submitted data. The animal experimental evidence indicates a toxic effect on growth. The clinical evidence raises concerns about glucose control in patients with diabetes.

Searches for an explanation resolving the adverse findings leave no clear acceptable answers that would insure the safety of the public but does stimulate speculation on questions relating to possible liver effects.”

Is Neotame Allowed in Organics?

While some writers have made the claim that neotame is allowed in organic foods, there does not appear to be any supporting evidence for this. Ditto for the rumor that it doesn’t have to be listed on the label. For example, according to a recent article on Sott.netv:

“Neotame was approved by the FDA for general use in July 2002 … The FDA loosened all labeling requirements for Neotame as part of a large-scale effort to make it a near-ubiquitous artificial sweetener, to be found on the tabletop, in all prepared foods, even in organics. It simply does not have to be included in the ingredient list.”

The Cornucopia Institute wrote a rebuttal to this internet rumor last year, statingvi:

“Organic foods cannot contain synthetic additives, unless these additives have been petitioned and approved to appear on the National List of Approved and Prohibited Substances (7 CFR 205.605). Emily Brown Rosen, Standards Specialist at the USDA’s National Organic Program, writes about neotame: “For organic food, all additives must appear on the National List.” Neotame has never been petitioned or approved for inclusion on the National List, and therefore cannot legally be added to organic foods.

We see no evidence, and see no reason to suspect, that any organic certifying agents would allow organic food manufacturers to violate the federal standards by adding this synthetic sweetener.

Moreover, as a direct food additive, neotame must be listed on the ingredients label, contrary to suggestions that this could be added to food in a stealth-like manner (21 CFR 101.100). We have not seen any evidence to suggest that neotame is being added covertly to organic foods. Not only would organic manufacturers be breaking the law by adding this synthetic sweetener to organic foods, they would also be breaking the law by not including Neotame on the ingredient label.”

Why is Neotame Dangerous?

That said, my recommendation for neotame is similar to that for aspartame, which is: avoid it at all costs if you care about your health. Neotame is like aspartame on steroids, so while you want to avoid both, neotame appears to be more toxic. One way of avoiding all artificial sweeteners is to purchase foods bearing the USDA 100% Organic label. I don’t believe there’s any reason to suspect organic foods will contain neotame.

I’ve previously expounded on the many health dangers of aspartame, and all of those dangers apply equally to neotame. But as if aspartame wasn’t bad enough, NutraSweet “improved” the aspartame formula by adding 3,3-dimethylbutyraldehyde, which blocks enzymes that break the peptide bond between aspartic acid and phenylalanine, thereby reducing the availability of phenylalanine. This eliminates the need for a warning on labels directed at people who cannot properly metabolize phenylalanine.

Neotame is also more stable at higher temperatures than aspartame, so it’s approved for use in a wider array of food products, including baked goods.

However, one of the byproducts your body creates by breaking down aspartame is formaldehyde, which is extremely toxic to your health even in very small dosesvii. Furthermore, in a search of PubMed.gov, the U.S. National Library of Medicine, which has over 11 million medical citations, neotame fails to include any double-blind scientific studies on toxicity in humans or animals. If neotame was indeed completely safe to ingest, you would think the NutraSweet Company would have published at least one double-blind safety study in the public domain?

Well, they haven’t… Why not?

How Did these Chemicals Get Approved for Human Consumption?

Today, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) could rightfully be accused of being a “subsidiary” of the Monsanto Company. When you realize just how many Monsanto executives and employees who have migrated into positions of power within the FDA and other government agencies, a truly disturbing picture emerges of the foxes guarding the henhouse.

The FDA is packed by pro-business, pro-corporation advocates who often have massive conflicts of interest when it comes to protecting the health of the public. In fact, the revolving door between private industry and government oversight agencies is so well established these days, it has become business as usual to read about scandal, conflicts of interest and blatant pro-industry bias, even when it flies in the face of science or the law.

Aspartame and Neotame—a Dieters WORST Enemy?

One of the most effective marketing and PR tactics for artificial sweeteners has been the claim that they help in the battle against obesity. Unfortunately, they don’t. In fact, the research and the epidemiologic data suggest the opposite is true, and that artificial sweeteners such as aspartame and neotame tend to lead to weight gain.

As I’ve often said, there’s more to weight gain or weight loss than mere calorie intake.

One reason for aspartame and neotame’s potential to cause weight gain is because phenylalanine and aspartic acid – the two amino acids that make up 90 percent of aspartame and are also present in neotame — are known to rapidly stimulate the release of insulin and leptin; two hormones that are intricately involved with satiety and fat storage. Insulin and leptin are also the primary hormones that regulate your metabolism. So although you’re not ingesting calories in the form of sugar, aspartame and neotame can still raise your insulin and leptin levels. Elevated insulin and leptin levels, in turn, are two of the driving forces behind obesity, diabetes, and a number of our current chronic disease epidemics.

Over time, if your body is exposed to too much leptin, it will become resistant to it, just as your body can become resistant to insulin, and once that happens, your body can no longer “hear” the hormonal messages instructing your body to stop eating, burn fat, and maintain good sensitivity to sweet tastes in your taste buds. So, you remain hungry; you crave sweets, and your body stores more fat… Leptin-resistance also causes an increase in visceral fat, sending you on a vicious cycle of hunger, fat storage and an increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and more.

Neotame Added to Cattle Feed to Fatten Livestock…

If you want more proof that artificial sweeteners like neotame are not a dieter’s best friend, consider this: neotame is actually used as a substitute for molasses in cattle feed. The product is marketed as “Sweetos” in India.  The makers of Neotame, in partnership with an Indian health care company called EnSigns Health Care Pvt Ltd, introduced the neotame-laced cattle feed sweetener back in October 2010ix. According to the press release:

“Sweetos is an economical substitute for molasses. Sweetos guarantees the masking of unpleasant tastes and odor and improves the palatability of feed. This product will be economical for farmers and manufacturers of cattle feed. It can also be used in mineral mixture,” said Craig Petray, CEO, The NutraSweet Company, a division of Searle, which is a part of Monsanto.

… “We are in talks with the animal husbandry department to reach out to farmers and are trying to tie up with extension services with co-operative societies as well. Cattle consume more fodder when mixed with Sweetos. This product has great export potential as well,” said Mohan Nair, chairman, Ensigns Health Care.” [Emphasis mine.]

This brings up several disturbing facts… Not only are some countries now producing animal products that are potentially laced with neotame residues, but they’re clearly stating that the “diet” sweetener increases the amount of fodder consumed by the animals, so how exactly is it supposed to help you lose weight? Loss of appetite control is never a good thing when you’re trying to lose weight, and the statement made about Sweetos fodder speaks volumes about neotame’s impact on your appetite.

How to Report Adverse Reactions to Aspartame or Neotame

Did you know that only a fraction of all adverse food reactions are ever reported to the FDA? This is a problem that only you as the consumer can have an impact upon. In order to truly alert the FDA to a problem with a product they’ve approved, they must be notified – by as many people as possible who believe they have experienced a side effect. This mean you can take action against the manufacturers of these chemicals that continue to put your optimal health at risk, if you feel you have had a bad reaction to their product.

I urge you, if you believe you have experienced side effects from aspartame or neotame, let the FDA know about it!

Please go to the FDA Consumer Complaint Coordinator page, find the phone number listed for your state, and report your adverse reaction.

There’s no telling just how many reports they might need before considering taking another look at the safety of aspartame or neotame, but the only way to press them is by reporting any and all adverse effects. And in the meantime, do your health and the health of your family a favor and treat all foods and drinks that contain aspartame or neotame as if they were deleterious to your optimal health. Because, in my opinion, they are.

bacteria 220x137 Judge to FDA: Remove Superbug Breeding Antibiotics from Animal FeedA federal judge has stepped up to the plate and is now ordering FDA regulators to start proceedings to revoke the approval for the use of common antibiotics in animal feed, stating that the excessive overuse of antibiotics is threatening public health through breeding drug-resistant superbugs. The news could not have come at a more appropriate time, after it was just recently revealed that antibiotic overuse has actually spawned a resistant ‘white plague‘ that threatens the health of individuals worldwide. Thanks to the countless unnecessary prescriptions of antibiotics dished out in nations like India, a heavily drug-resistant form of tuberculosis has scientists concerned over a potential pandemic.

United States Magistrate Judge Theodore Katz ordered the FDA to begin with the initiative unless the drug manufacturers can prove that their usage in the food supply is safe. It would be highly unlikely that the drug makers could produce evidence showing that the antibiotic consumption is safe, considering that antibiotics have been linked to obesity, metabolic syndrome, and even skyrocketing mental illness rates. This is in addition to creating massively resistant superbugs that are considered to be impossible to treat by mainstream medicine.

Using standard antibiotic regimens, there is a one in 10 chance that treatment of an E.coli infection will fail because the bug is resistant. But, as numbers of resistant infections rise, there will be increasing pressure to use more powerful antibiotics, called carbapenems, which are the last line available. And resistance to those is already emerging…The warnings follow increasing reports from Europe of patients with infections that are almost impossible to treat.

It is for this reason that groups have sued the FDA over the use of antibiotics in animal feed, citing legitimate safety concerns. In a lawsuit led by both environmental and health-advocacy groups, the organizations allege that he FDA knew years ago that loading up livestock full of penicillin and tetracyclines (the 2 antibiotics in question) was causing bacteria to become resistant to drugs that humans rely upon to fight infections. The result? The development of such superbugs and mutated viruses.  Shockingly, the group also reported on a particularly worrying statistic showing just how many antibiotics are given to livestock and subsequently consumed by the public. “Approximately 80% of all antibiotics used in the United States today are used in livestock,” the group explained in the suit.

Drug-resistant infections not only wreak havoc on public health, but cost American taxpayers more than $20 billion each year, according to a 2009 study from the Alliance for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics and Cook County Hospital. There’s simply no reason to continue the dangerous practice of dosing up livestock with antibiotics. Judge Katz explains:

“In the intervening years, the scientific evidence of the risks to human health from the widespread use of antibiotics in livestock has grown, and there is no evidence that the FDA has changed its position that such uses are not shown to be safe,” wrote the Magistrate Judge .

FDA may legalize pot medicine, but only for Big Pharma.

(NaturalNews) The pressure is on for researchers and pharmaceutical companies to develop drug-based, non-synthetic versions of marijuana for medical use, as the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is poised to approve such varieties in the near future. But this potential approval appears to be reserved only for Big Pharma, as the marijuana plant itself could continue to remain a controlled substance at the federal level with no recognized health benefits.

The Associated Press (AP) reports that GW Pharma, a British pharmaceutical company, is currently undergoing advanced clinical trials for the world’s first drug made from raw marijuana, which it will seek FDA approval for by the end of 2013. There are currently a number of synthetic cannabinoid drugs on the market that have been approved by the FDA, but none that incorporate actual marijuana (http://www.justice.gov/dea/ongoing/marinol.html).

Known as Sativex, the marijuana spray contains both delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol, which are considered to be raw marijuana’s two most well-known active components. GW Pharma is hoping to receive US FDA approval of Sativex for the treatment of cancer pain, as the drug has already been approved in several other countries for the treatment of muscle spasm pain caused by multiple sclerosis.

While this is great news on the medical marijuana front in America, it does not necessarily imply that either the FDA or the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) will loosen its regulatory grip on the actual marijuana plant. Like regulators did with the stevia plant, marijuana could receive approval only in patented form from drug companies (http://www.healthynewage.com/blog/stevia-fda-approved/).

“To the extent that companies can produce effective medication that utilizes the components of [marijuana], that’s great. But that should not be the exclusive access for people who want to be able to use medical marijuana,” said Kris Hermes, a spokesman from the pro-marijuana group Americans for Safe Access.

“That’s the race against time, in terms of how quickly can we put pressure on the federal government to recognize the plant has medical use versus the government coming out with the magic bullet pharmaceutical pill.”

If the federal government does approve Sativex and other drug-based forms of real marijuana, though, it will have to change its official position that marijuana has no medical benefits. If the plant’s two most known ingredients are approved for medical use as a drug, in other words, the government’s only choice to remain consistent will be to finally admit that marijuana does have medicinal value, and thus legalize it.

Getting fat faster happens with humans on antibiotics too, for the same reason it happens with farm animals, gut flora destruction. Besides being important for digestion, probiotic intestinal flora have more than one immunity function.

These were then cited by literally thousands of other research papers, many of which were also fraudulent themselves. Ah, but who cares? Who cares that the research is complete fraud? As long as the media can scare people away from vitamins, that’s what really counts, you see. They don’t care that it’s all a complete hoax because they know that 99% of their readers will never check the facts for themselves. Most people will just swallow whatever media lies are shoved at them, without even a hint of skepticism.

After all, who cares about facts anymore? Facts are inconvenient when you’re trying to convince the world population to stay sick and diseased all the time so you can sell ‘em more of your patented, monopoly-priced prescription poisons.

Here’s another inconvenient fact that nobody in the mainstream whore media bothered to tell you:

FACT: The sample size of the women taking copper in this study was a grand total of: 24 people by the end of the study.

Twenty-four people? Yeah, that’s reported in table 4 on page six of the study: There were 30 women taking copper in 1986 when the study began. This increased to 57 women in 1997, then decreased to 24 women in 2004 – 2008, when the study ended. So from 24 women, and through the voodoo manipulation of the data, this study concludes that copper has a 50% increase in mortality.

Wow, that’s some pretty stunning science fraud. Sort of idiotic, actually. It would earn you an “F” in high school science class if you tried to pull this off. Yet the mainstream media reports this as if it were rock-solid science. In doing so, all they do is just embarrass themselves and show what science morons their own reporters still are.

Most of these newspapers and newsstand magazines you see claiming to cover the news should actually be filed in the “fiction” category at booksellers.

Sometimes I wonder what it takes to be a corporate-controlled journalist these days. First, it requires that you be a complete moron on topics such as biochemistry, food, agriculture, nutrition, basic science, the environment, economics, the money supply and of course world history. It’s almost as if mainstream media journalists are comprised of people who have been voluntarily lobotomized so that they now “qualify” to write for the dumbed-down media.

More importantly, being a mainstream media “whore” journalist requires that you get really, really comfortable telling lies for your corporate masters. Whatever you’re told to write, you just write it, even if you know it’s a total lie. And if you’re directed to destroy somebody in an interview — like Anderson Cooper tried to do with Dr. Wakefield — you just do it on command like a good little Nazi soldier.

That’s why, with very few exceptions, the Anderson Coopers, the Bill O’Reillys, and the AP and Reuters reporters that dominate the old dinosaur media today are really just social engineers who are being used as pawns in a system of total corporate disinformation designed to keep you sick, diseased and enslaved to a medical monopoly which actually goes out of its way to destroy nutritional knowledge and therefore promote nutritional illiteracy.

There’s no other word for it: Mainstream media journalists are nutritionally illiterate. So are nearly all mainstream doctors. So are most conventional scientists. So are most people! The nutritional knowledge which could have been used to prevent probably 80% of all chronic, degenerative disease in America has been censored, suppressed, shuttered or destroyed by the medical establishment working in cahoots with the FDA and the mainstream media. They have actually gone out of their way to make sure everybody “stays stupid” when it comes to vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals.

The whole point of this is to keep people enslaved in a system of medical domination where they think of “nutrients” as being things they are found in prescription medications. Some people think blood-thinning drugs are “nutrients,” and they pop their medications as if they were candy, sometimes taking a dozen or more dangerous prescription medications every single day. This is what the conventional medical industry wants you to think of as “nutrition.”

Vaccines are nutrition, too, didn’t you know? You are incomplete without them! If you want to be whole, you must allow yourself to be repeatedly injected with all kinds of vaccines. At least that’s what the medical establishment wants you to believe. It’s all, of course, a complete pack of lies.

Nutrition doesn’t come from your doctor. Your doctor is most likely a complete and total moron when it comes to nutrition. Did you catch that? $4.7 billion in advertising through the mainstream media… and that was in 2008 (it’s much larger now). This also reveals that drug companies spent $12 billion bribing doctors, $3.4 billion running doctor “education camps” that promote more drugs, and $400 million corrupting medical journals.

So we’re supposed to believe that none of this money has any influence on the Archives of Internal Medicine nor the mainstream media outlets which ran this media hoax that “vitamin will kill you?” Seriously?

How could any mainstream media journalist miss all this? Have they forgotten how to read? Or even how to think? Reporting on this vitamin study while failing to mention all the financial ties between the drug industry and the mainstream media itself is sort of like reporting on the Titanic’s maiden voyage across the Atlantic but failing to mention it sank.

The media cover-up IS the story here! The financial corruption of the medical journals IS the story! The hoaxing of the population with a completely fabricated story based on quack science is actually one of the biggest stories of the year. And yet, obviously no one in the mainstream media will report a story based on an investigation of the total financial corruption of the mainstream media itself. “Reporting the news” in the mainstream media is little more than taking corporate globalist press releases and repackaging them as “news” without engaging in any fact checking or independent research whatsoever. It’s an embarrassment to the whole field of journalism, actually.

Aspartame, the artificial sweetener found in many diet sodas and used as an ‘alternative’ sweetener, has been found recently to have detrimental – specifically, cancerous – effects.

A study performed by researcher Victoria Innes-Brown, after mounting concerns with how much diet coke her family members seemed to consume daily, showed that of 48 rats experimented on up to 67 percent of all females developed tumors roughly the size of golf balls or larger. The male population didn’t do too well either: 21 percent of the males developed similar cancerous growths.


For the course of her two-and-a-half-year study, Innes-Brown used a dose of NutraSweet (found on shelves in food stores across the nation) comparable to that of 14 cans of diet soda for her 24 female test subjects and 13 cans for her other 24 male subjects; both the amount approved by the FDA (a 50mg per kilogram ratio) as a reasonable dose, and the amount consumed by some likely uninformed individuals.

Though it may seem as news to some readers, aspartame has been a known carcinogen for quite some time.

Aspartame researcher Dr. Soffritti did a similar pair of studies to Innes-Brown’s. The first study found that consumption of the equivalent of 4 to 5 bottles of diet soda per day yielded high rates of cancerous growths among many of his subjects; the highest dose producing 25 percent of females with cancerous cell growth, compared to 8.7 percent of the control group females. With this study, Soffritti concluded that aspartame at a ratio as low as 400 parts per million (ppm) was considered carcinogenic.

Initially these findings caused quite the controversy and sparked mass denial and nay saying worldwide. Now, after over 900 published studies on the health hazards of the sweetener the nay saying has been curbed substantially.

Such studies have indicated that aspartame is nothing more than a bond of two amino acids found in our own amino acid profile, with a disproportionately large quantity of each bonded together with a known poison. Metabolized in the body, aspartame can yield other more dangerous chemicals such as Methanol and Formaldehyde.

PBS documentary highlights marijuana’s amazing ability to treat disease.

(NaturalNews) The advent of the internet and the free flow of information that has enlightened the minds of millions, the mainstream media can no longer simply ignore or deny the truth about marijuana’s medicinal capacity.

This was made evident in a recent PBS documentary that highlighted marijuana’s ability to alleviate pain, treat epilepsy, and even cure cancer. But now that the cat is out of the bag, the stage is being set for Big Pharma to freely synthesize and patent marijuana’s healing components, not necessarily for the plant itself to become legalized.

Though mostly positive in its portrayal of cannabis, the PBS report does contain some sound bytes from Dr. Eric Voth, Chair of the Institute on Global Drug Policy, a longtime, and very outspoken, opponent of medical marijuana. But all in all, the documentary is a compelling and highly-informative piece that may help to eventually turn the stigmatic tides of fear and superstition that surround this taboo plant.

In the piece, a PBS interviewer speaks with an anonymous woman from Montana who has essentially cured her epilepsy by eating raw marijuana butter. The woman moved from her unidentified home state, which does not allow for the use of medicinal marijuana, where a law was passed in 2004 that permits doctors there to recommend medicinal marijuana to their patients.

“I used to be on approximately 14 different prescriptions and I would still have up to 12 seizures a day,” says the woman to the PBS reporter. “I used to take two handfuls of pills. No more. I’m not using [marijuana] to get any psychological effects off of it, I’m just eating the butter raw with bread.”

She goes on to say that she had tried virtually every anti-epileptic drug on the market, but to no avail. Of all the treatments she has tried, raw marijuana butter, which is completely natural and free of both toxic and synthetic additives, has been the only one to provide real benefits. And as an added bonus, there are no harmful side effects associated with the consumption of raw marijuana butter like there are with anti-epileptic drugs.

Dr. Voth’s argument against marijuana in the PBS piece is prefaced with his opinion that because the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not proven the plant to be safe and effective, it is not a real medicine. But the reason for this, as most NaturalNews readers already know, is not because marijuana is unsafe or ineffective — it is because whole marijuana cannot be patented by drug companies, which pay millions to get their drugs approved, and thus keep the FDA in business.

But what is even more disturbing is Dr. Voth’s total failure to understand the concept of synergistic medicine, or the benefits that can be derived from consuming a whole plant or herb rather than just its so-called “active components.” Dr. Voth laments the fact that people who smoke or consume medical marijuana are exposing themselves to dozens of different cannabinoids and various other substances, rather than just an extract of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), for instance.

In the mind of Dr. Voth and conventional medicine, only an “active component” that has been individually tested and shown to produce a specific, measurable effect by itself is considered a valid medical treatment. Consuming a whole herb or plant to treat disease, on the other hand, is a foreign concept to people like Dr. Voth who simply cannot comprehend the idea that the multitude of components found in medicinal foods and herbs work in tandem with one another to produce a synergistic benefit. And such components might not be as effective — and may even be harmful — if they are removed from the others and isolated, or created synthetically.

“Marijuana contains anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and probably anticancer compounds in it,” adds Dr. Donald Abrams, an oncology physician and professor of clinical medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). “I’m a cancer doctor and I often suggest to my patients that they consider marijuana for their loss of appetite, nausea, pain, depression, and insomnia. That’s one medicine they can use instead of five.”

But Dr. Voth insists that medical marijuana as we currently know it is potentially dangerous, and the only way it should ever be used is in an isolated drug form. From this platform, of course, Big Pharma is given the green light to extract, manipulate, synthesize, and otherwise tamper with marijuana in its pure form in order to produce a patented version of marijuana’s active components.

Despite all the ballyhoo from marijuana naysayers, though, the truth still remains that whole marijuana has demonstrable medicinal properties. And the plant works differently from conventional medicine in that it is effective without producing dangerous side effects. Even the US Institute of Medicine (IoM) has confirmed that marijuana in its natural form is therapeutic, particularly for epileptics, having released two separate reports on the subject.

And based on numerous patents filed by drug companies for synthetic and isolated component versions of marijuana, the plant apparently has the ability to treat “almost everything,” according to PBS. These include its ability to treat multiple sclerosis (MS), Alzheimer’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, Tourette’s, epilepsy, heart disease, obesity, mental illness, and cancer.

Thus, drug companies want marijuana all to themselves because they know how effective it truly is. And they have worked hard to effectively block its legalization in whole form in the hopes that it can eventually corner the market on patented drug versions, which of course have the potential to reap billions of dollars in new revenue.
