The book “The Lost Symbol” by Dan Brown contains a chapter on some amazing experiments. According to the author, our soul is a material substance which can exist outside the body and can have weight. Therefore, it can be weighed. One of the characters in the book, Katherine Solomon, was able to weigh human soul. She placed a dying man (he had donated his body for scientific purposes) in an air-tight capsule, fitted with very sensitive micro weight detectors. While the man was alive, the scales showed a figure of 51, 4,534,644 kilograms. And after the old man’s death, the micro scales showed a decrease in the body weight. Brown does not specify this difference as a number, but makes a general comment: “This difference, though microscopic, is quite measurable.” This experiment allowed Brown to stipulate that the human soul does exist.
Dr. Duncan MacDougall from Haverhill (Massachusetts, USA), was the first scientist to conduct this kind of experiment in 1906, as reported by the New York Times on March 7, 1907. McDougall “detected” the change in the body weight when the person had died. The measurements were performed on a special bed, which was also a gigantic scale with high precision, and have shown that the “soul” weighs 22.4 grams. Another weight measurement of the “transient substance” was done almost 80 years later, in 1990, by another researcher – Lyell Watson from the University of New York. In his experiments, the deceased became 2.5 – 6.5 grams lighter. And almost identical results were obtained by Doctor of Science Eugenyus Kugis from the Institute of Semiconductors of the Lithuania Academy of Sciences in 2006. He found that at the time of death, the person loses between 3 to 7 grams of body weight.
It is not clear yet if the difference in weight can be attributed to the soul. But the question related to the existence of soul may be answered soon. The studies designed to prove the existence of soul have now been conducted in 25 clinics in the U.S., Canada and the UK. Dr. Sam Parnia is in charge of these experiments. He came up with an idea to test the hypothesis of human soul escaping the body after death, the phenomenon which has been persistently described by individuals who had experienced clinical death. The Doctor and his assistance place cards with written notes in intensive care wards, in places not visible to the patients from their beds, on the ceiling, for instance. The patient who becomes “dead” for a short duration, will need to read the words written on cards and then tell them to physicians. If the word is read and told correctly by one of the patients, then it is possible to say that an intelligent entity is separated from the body during death. And what else can it be but the human soul? The experiment will end at the end of 2013, and the separation of this intelligent entity from the body will be observed in 1,500 patients.
Russian scientist, the head of the intensive care unit and resuscitation, Nikolai Gubin said:
“My colleagues and I conducted experiments on mice to determine when and how the weight loss occurs when a living organism dies. Four newborn mice weighing 4 and 5 grams were injected with strychnine. After that, two of the mice were placed in the laboratory containers without lids. And the other two mice remained in tightly sealed special containers. When the mice were later weighed, it was found that the weight loss (meaning the “soul” separating from the body) occurred in the first two test subjects, which were dying in the open air. Their weight decreased by 3 and 6 mg. The mice, isolated from the outside world, had their weight unchanged. It turns out that this possible weight loss during the process of dying can be attributed to natural physical processes (water losses during respiration, heat and evaporation losses), and their effect on difference in body weight can be eliminated by sealing the test subjects undergoing the process of dying.”
In addition, it has been long known that a decrease in body weight can be recorded during sleep. In an experiment by Swiss scientists, 23 volunteers laid in bed, outfitted with ultra-sensitive scales and went to sleep. At the time when an individual transitioned from being awake to falling asleep, a weight loss between 4 and 6 grams had occurred.
This statement reflects the wisdom of the Spiritual People of the Earth, of North and South America, working in unity to restore peace, harmony and balance for our collective future and for all living beings. This statement is written in black and white with a foreign language that is not our own and does not convey the full depth of our concerns.
The Creator created the People of the Earth into the Land at the beginning of Creation and gave us a way of life. This way of life has been passed down generation-to-generation since the beginning. We have not honored this way of life through our own actions and we must live these original instructions in order to restore universal balance and harmony. We are a part of Creation; thus, if we break the Laws of Creation, we destroy ourselves.
We, the Original Caretakers of Mother Earth, have no choice but to follow and uphold the Original Instructions, which sustains the continuity of Life. We recognize our umbilical connection to Mother Earth and understand that she is the source of life, not a resource to be exploited. We speak on behalf of all Creation today, to communicate an urgent message that man has gone too far, placing us in the state of survival. We warned that one day you would not be able to control what you have created. That day is here.
Not heeding warnings from both Nature and the People of the Earth keeps us on the path of self destruction. This self destructive path has led to the Fukushima nuclear crisis, Gulf oil spill, tar sands devastation, pipeline failures, impacts of carbon dioxide emissions and the destruction of ground water through hydraulic fracking, just to name a few. In addition, these activities and development continue to cause the deterioration and destruction of sacred places and sacred waters that are vital for Life.
Powerful technologies are out of control and are threatening the future of all life. The Fukushima nuclear crisis alone is a threat to the future of humanity. Yet, our concern goes far beyond this single threat. Our concern is with the cumulative and compounding devastation that is being wrought by the actions of human beings around the world. It is the combination of resource extraction, genetically modified organisms, moral failures, pollution, introduction of invasive species and much much more that are threatening the future of life on Earth.
The compounding of bad decisions and their corresponding actions are extremely short-sighted. They do not consider the future generations and they do not respect or honor the Creator’s Natural Law. We strongly urge for the governmental authorities to respond with an open invitation to work and consult with us to solve the world’s problems, without war. We must stop waging war
against Mother Earth, and ourselves.
We acknowledge that all of these devastating actions originated in human beings who are living without regard for the Earth as the source of life. They have strayed from the Original Instructions by casting aside the Creator’s Natural Law. It is now critical for humanity to acknowledge that we have created a path to self destruction. We must restore the Original Instructions in our lives to halt this devastation.
The sanctity of the Original Instructions has been violated. As a result, the Spiritual People of the Earth were called ceremonially to come together at the home of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe Bundle. These Spiritual Leaders and those that carry great responsibility for their people from both North and South America came together with the sacred fire for four days at the end of September 2013 to fulfill their sacred
responsibilities. During this time it was revealed that the spirit of destruction gained its’ strength by our spiritually disconnected actions. We are all responsible in varying degrees for calling forth this spirit of destruction, thus we are all bound to begin restoring what we have damaged by helping one another recover our sacred responsibility to the Earth. We, the Original Caretakers of Mother Earth, offer our spiritual insight, wisdom and vision to the global community to help guide the actions needed to overcome the current threats to all life.
We only have to look at our own bodies to recognize the sacred purpose of water on Mother Earth. We respect and honor our spiritual relationship with the lifeblood of Mother Earth. One does not sell or contaminate their mother’s blood. These capitalistic actions must stop and we must recover our sacred relationship with the Spirit of Water.
The People of the Earth understand that the Fukushima nuclear crisis continues to threaten the future of all life. We understand the full implications of this crisis even with the suppression of information and the filtering of truth by the corporate owned media and Nation States. We strongly urge the media, corporations and Nation States to acknowledge and convey the true facts that threaten us, so that the international community may work together to resolve this crisis, based on the foundation of Truth.
We urge the international community, government of Japan and TEPCO to unify efforts to stabilize and re-mediate the nuclear threat posed at the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant. To ensure that the Japanese government and TEPCO are supported with qualified personnel and information, we urge the inclusion of today’s nuclear experts from around the world to collaborate, advise and provide technical assistance to prevent further radioactive contamination or worse, a nuclear explosion that may have
The foundation for peace will be strengthened by restoring the Original Instructions in ourselves.
Prophecies have been shared and sacred instructions were given. We, the People of the Earth, were instructed that the original wisdom must be shared again when imbalance and disharmony are upon Mother Earth. In 1994 the sacred white buffalo, the giver of the sacred pipe, returned to the Lakota, Dakota and Nakota people bringing forth the sacred message that the winds of change are here. Since that time many more messengers in the form of white animals have come, telling us to wake up my children. It is time. So listen for the sacred instruction.
All Life is sacred. We come into Life as sacred beings. When we abuse the sacredness of Life we affect all Creation. We urge all Nations and human beings around the world to work with us, the Original Caretakers of Mother Earth, to restore the Original Instructions and uphold the Creator’s Natural Law as a foundation for all decision making, from this point forward.
Our collective future as human beings is in our hands, we must address the Fukushima nuclear crisis and all actions that may violate the Creator’s Natural Law. We have reached the crossroads of life and the end of our existence. We will avert this potentially
catastrophic nuclear disaster by coming together with good minds and prayer as a global
community of all faiths.
We are the People of the Earth united under the Creator’s Law with a sacred covenant to protect and a responsibility to extend Life for all future generations. We are expressing deep concern for our shared future and urge everyone to awaken spiritually. We must work in unity to help Mother Earth heal so that she can bring back balance and harmony for all her children.

Samhain (pronounced // SAH-win or // SOW-in) is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the “darker half” of the year. It is celebrated from sunset on 31 October to sunset on 1 November, which is nearly halfway between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice. Along with Imbolc, Beltane and Lughnasadh it makes up the four Gaelic seasonal festivals. It was observed in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man. Kindred festivals were held at the same time of year in other Celtic lands; for example the Brythonic Calan Gaeaf (in Wales), Kalan Gwav (in Cornwall) and Kalan Goañv (in Brittany).

“We humans have existed in our present form for about a hundred thousand years. I believe that if during this time the human mind had been primarily controlled by anger and hatred, our overall population would have decreased. But today, despite all our wars, we find that the human population is greater than ever. This clearly indicates to me that love and compassion predominate in the world. And this is why unpleasant events are “news”; compassionate activities are so much a part of daily life that they are taken for granted and, therefore, largely ignored.”

“Look, here is a tree in the garden and every summer it produces apples, and we call it an apple tree because the tree “apples.” That’s what it does. Alright, now here is a solar system inside a galaxy, and one of the peculiarities of this solar system is that at least on the planet earth, the thing peoples! In just the same way that an apple tree apples!
What I am really saying is that you don’t need to do anything, because if you see yourself in the correct way, you are all as much extraordinary phenomenon of Nature as trees, clouds, the patterns in running water, the flickering of fire, the arrangement of the stars, and the form of a galaxy. You are all just like that…”

Russell Brand answers the question “What Is The Ultimate Truth?”
Oct 18, 2013
Many have probably heard that our brain has a small body called epiphysis or pineal gland. It is believed that this is our “third eye”.
Epiphysis has many names: the Third Eye, Adjna Chakra, the Eye of Eternity, the Mighty Eye, the Eye of Shiva, the Eye of Wisdom, The Seat of Soul (Descartes), Dreaming Eye (Schopenhauer), and the pineal gland. It has received its name because of its shape, resembling a pine cone.
Eastern occultists claim that the pineal gland with its own special structure of nerve cells and small grains of brain tissue is closely related to the subliminal transmission and reception of mental vibrations.
The pineal gland is accumulation of nerve tissue in the brain located near the center of the skull and right above the upper end of the spinal cord. It is shaped as a small cone and reddish-gray in color. Located in front of the cerebellum and attached to the third ventricle of the brain, it contains a large amount of particulate matter, similar to grains of sand, therefore it is sometimes called grainy tissue.
Studies have shown that this substance is absent in children under the age of 7, mentally challenged people and those who suffer from some mental disorders. Occultists know that this grainy tissues is the key to human spirituality. It serves as a bridging link between the mind and the body.
Scientists have also repeatedly made assumptions that the crystals of brain’s grainy tissue are capable of absorbing non-electromagnetic radiation. Back in the early 70’s of the twentieth century, the famous Soviet physical chemist and professor of the Moscow University Nikolai Kobozev, while analyzing the phenomenon of consciousness, has come to a conclusion that the molecular structure of brain tissue is not responsible for the thinking process, it requires excitation by external flows with ultra-light particles called “psychons”.
According to this hypothesis, a person does not think at a willpower, but because the pineal gland with grainy tissue in the brain absorbs cosmic radiation. The “psychons” are the main carriers and transmitters of mental and emotional impulses.
The hypothesis also stipulates that the brain’s grainy tissue in the epiphysis represents a control center and the carrier of informational matrix in humans and other well-developed animals. This theory comes very close to the concept of a quantum computer.
During the natural life cycle, these organic crystals gradually accumulate organo-phosphorus-calcium shells, that is, within the pineal gland, in the medium supersaturated with calcium salts and phosphorus, they are gradually transformed into aggregates of brain grainy tissue. Unusual information transmitting properties of brain’s grainy tissue are observed in many experiments, and according to the authors, they can store all of the information about the person.
Presently, histologists have figured out the structure of the brain’s grainy tissue. The grains are 5 microns to 2 mm in size, they often resemble mulberry in shape, i.e. have scalloped edges. They consist of organic matter, a colloid, which is secreted by pinealocytes and layered with calcium and magnesium salts, mainly phosphates. Using the X-ray crystallographic analysis it was shown that the calcium salt formations on the epiphysis’ diffractograms are similar to hydroxyapatite crystals. Brain’s grainy tissue under polarized light exhibit birefringence which leads to formation resembling Maltese cross. (!)
Due to the presence of calcium phosphate, the grains exhibit initial fluorescence under ultraviolet radiation just like colloidal particles with blue-white glow. A similar blue fluorescence is observed in myelin endings of nerve cells extensions.
The most interesting finding is that the grainy tissue contains calcium hydroxyapatite, which is believed to be one of the most suitable candidates as a component of a quantum computer! A striking coincidence, and probably not accidental.
Combining the data on cell-based quantum computer with information about biological nature of the pineal gland and the structure of brain’s grainy tissue, a very interesting hypothesis can be derived : the pineal gland of the brain is part of a quantum computer inside our head and brain’s grainy tissue is the physical substance of the quantum processor.
Shortly after we are born, our quantum computer is still clean, it is not loaded with any programs to help us deal with the busy world around us.
This computer, as a device we will rely on, is not quite ready be used yet, the final “assembly” is not complete. It’s like the physics of quantum information exchange when systems of interacting nonlocal correlations are linked, but they cannot become true quantum computers. To get a quantum computer, it is necessary to organize the qubits, which can be selectively manipulated to perform logical operations to attain tangible results.
A child is similar in this respect, when at first, he or she is closer to the world of subtlety, with epiphysis qubits, which help to perform logical operations, still absent. Brain’s grainy tissue and hydroxyapatite crystals are developed and function as physical media qubits, are formed gradually, as the child grows, when he or she begins to master the mental constructs and logical operations.
Humans have the ability to use the “magic” non-local properties of complicated structures of qubits of the quantum computer. It turns out that all esoteric practices inherently mean that a person is trying to switch brain activity from the standard mode of operation to a quantum power. By processing information with mystical nature, we engage non-local entangled structures and make use of indirect messages, essentially performing something that aspires physicists who are working on making quantum computer a reality!
Based on theoretical foundations of quantum mechanics it can be implied that for the additional quantum correlations to exist we must have the presence of traditional physics-based interactions. That is, in order for our existence to have an opportunity to reflect back on itself and develop further, it needs to have a material basis, some type of a conductor in the physical world. The crystals of hydroxyapatite in brain’s grainy tissue can serve in this role and act as a physical basis for the quantum computer inside our brain.
By the way, during ultrasound screening, the pineal gland becomes visible in the human embryo around 49th day after conception, about the same time when it becomes possible to discern the gender of the baby. The nature manages to first form the processor of our future quantum computer, which, during later stages of development, is fitted with the rest of the required “hardware”.
This development begins with thin quantum levels, and if there is reincarnation, it is precisely at this time when the quantum astrosome for the next incarnation begins. According to Buddhist philosophy, a deceased person needs exactly 49 days to enter the next incarnation phase.
It turns out that, to some extent, the occultists philosophy about brain’s grainy tissue as the repository of psychic energy is somewhat true, as well as their point about the pineal gland being the link between the body and the mind (the seat of the soul).
This conclusion is supported by a quote from the book of M.P. Hall: “A child usually lives within a distant world. The child’s s physical body is still controlled with difficulty, however, within those worlds, connected by the open doors of the pineal gland, the child has self-awareness and is active. Gradually, certain manifestations of higher consciousness are absorbed by the body and crystallize physically in the form of grainy tissue which can be detected in this gland. But until consciousness enters the body, there is no grainy tissues present in this gland. “
And what happens to a person who has the pineal gland removed?
After removal of the pineal gland people experience the so-called “bordering state.” Here is one of those descriptions:
“I’ve been watching a lot of neurosurgical patients who have had a epiphysis removed due to malignancies. They exhibit a virtual bordering state existence, when they find themselves in illusory reality and in the present simultaneously. They exist in a vivid dream-like state, while being conscious, and can alternate between these two states of consciousness.
Experiments conducted with these patients revealed that their existence in this reality is different from the norm and it may seem odd to the casual observer.
It is interesting that these patients demonstrate a fully fixed gaze with a slightly perceptible movement of their eyes.
And even more interesting is that when they go through this reality, they move the same distance within the other reality. One gentleman, whom I helped to get to the bathroom, stopped halfway and for some time he could not go any further due to the fact that in his other reality, he was at the horse races, and the spot where we stopped in the corridor of the hospital, was simultaneously perceived by him as the side of the racing track. We could not move further until the path in his way would become free of horses, which, in his mind, could knock him off his feet…”

Two world-renowned scientists of quantum physics claim to be able to prove the existence of the soul.
The scientists propose an incredible theory that states that near-death experiences happen when quantum substances that constitute the soul leave the nervous system and are introduced into the universe in general.
This concept is based on the perception of the brain as a biological computer with 100 billion neurons and synaptic connections, which act as information networks and can remain in the universe even after death, the fact that can explain the perceptions of those who almost experienced death.
British physicist Sir Roger Penrose and American anesthesiologist Dr Stuart Hameroff developed this quantum theory of consciousness claiming that human souls are located in the structures called microtubules that ‘live’ inside the brain cells.
During a near-death experience, microtubules lose their quantum state, but the information they keep is not destroyed. In other words, after death the soul does not disappear but returns to the universe. Therefore, the soul is more than just an interaction of neurons in the brain. In fact, it is created by the very structure of the universe and thus it may be as old as the beginning of time.
So, let’s say that the heart stops beating and the blood stops flowing, then microtubules lose their quantum state but the quantum information in them cannot be destroyed, so it is distributed and diffused in the universe.
If the patient has revived, then the quantum information can return to microtubules and he says that he had a near death experience. However, in case of death of the patient, the quantum information can exist outside his body as a soul for an indefinite period of time.

Was your week stressful? Let’s set up your own personal meditation retreat, right where you are.
Create your personal inner sanctum…
We all know the benefits of taking time, but why not spoil yourself and take this resting time a step further to foster a retreat you deserve of. When we visit a retreat, we enter a place of calm and centeredness.
In order or us to take up the task of setting up our own personal meditation retreat, we need to know some things about a retreat frist. A retreat is a place where people go in order escape and find themselves in peaceful state of mind. Why we usually go somewhere else for a retreat because we don’t consider it possible in the current environment.
This means our inner state is directly controlled and influenced by the environment we are in. Therefore, in order to set up your personal meditation retreat, the first step is setting up your inner mental faculties to receiving your current environment as a retreat setting. This starts with, purpose. Understanding your own personal disposition with your environment will give you great insight as to quality of that relationship.
Setting Up the External:
Here are some tips, after you have your mind in check, to get your external environment ready for a at home meditation retreat:
1. Avoid morning caffeine.
Events will be a lot easier on your body if it doesn’t have to struggle with removing the toxins from caffeine.
2. Leave your phone.
Don’t just turn it off or on vibrate. Leave it behind completely. Once you get going, you wont miss it.
3. Do it alone and make it a legitimate ‘me’ event.
This gives your clarity as to what the focus is.
4. Flush out toxins by drinking water and using deep breathing.
This is important in order to keep your physiology in check.
5. Make your environment you own and personal.
If you like the smell of a particular incense or candle, use them.
6. Take this opportunity to improve your ability to concentrate and relax.
Use this time in self education. Learn how you can grow in the next week or month. You have the floor, take advantage of it.
Meditating everyday can be a tough commitment to stick to. With our busy modern lifestyle, we tend to find other things more important. However, what is more important than our own mental and spiritual development? If your schedule is crazy, use a “personal retreat” to hit the mental and spiritual reset button.
How about the weekend? The weekends always have some free time that you can use for meditation. Take a Friday after work to all day Saturday. Don’t leave the house. Plan ahead and acquire what you need in the house for that 24 hour personal retreat.
Things to Acquire:
If you have set aside a 24 hour block of time, acquired the needed things, and have your mental clarity ready, you are ready to embark on your first personal meditational retreat. The key thing to remember is that you are in control of what you do with your time. If you are being studious, you will apply introspection within this 24 hour period in order to understand yourself more fully and completely. The things you may discover during this time may be scary, but I assure you, they are extremely valuable.
There’s a wonderful saying by the great masters of the past. I remember when I first heard it what a revelation it was, because in these two lines is shown both what the nature of mind is and how to abide by it, which is the practice of meditation on the highest level. In Tibetan it is very beautiful, almost musical:chu ma nyok na dang, sem ma chö na de.
It means roughly, “Water, if you don’t stir it, will become clear; the mind, left unaltered, will find its own natural peace, well-being, happiness and bliss…” What is so incredible about this instruction is its emphasis on naturalness and on allowing our mind simply to be,
unaltered and without changing anything at all.
Yet another profound way of describing meditation is this: allowing yourself to be simply and clearly present in the face of whatever thoughts, sensations or emotions arise. The secret is where exactly your mind is: whether you are lost in the appearances of mind — the thoughts and emotions — or whether you are resting in the essence of mind — in your real nature, in your true being.
Through meditation, when you reach the state of transcendence, you simply rest, as much as you can, in the nature of mind, this most natural state which is without any reference or concept, hope or fear, yet with a quiet but soaring confidence, the deepest form of well-being imaginable. As the cloudlike thoughts and emotions fade away, the sky-like nature of your true being is revealed, and, shining from it, your true nature, like the sun. And just as both light and warmth blaze from the sun, wisdom and loving compassion radiate out from the mind’s innermost nature.
Since you have reached the state of transcendental wisdom, beyond your ego self, it is as if you have reached the summit of the highest mountain, from which you have a view over all, as well as a heartfelt understanding and insight into the needs of others. There comes a great opening of your heart in compassion, infused with a deep and pervasive love. The more we are able to be in the nature of our mind, therefore, the more we will discover our wisdom, immeasurable compassion and infinite capability, and so develop an inner strength that is deeply nourishing.
As we connect with the purity of our inherent nature through meditation practice, what is revealed is our fundamental goodness, our good heart. Kindness, compassion and love simply exude. And the more we integrate the practice mindfully in our lives, the more we will find that not only are we in touch with ourselves, but completely in touch with others. The barrier between ourself and others dissolves. Negativity is defused, there comes a self-forgiveness, and all the harm in us is removed, so that we become truly useful and able to be of service to others.
And the breezes
You loved in summer
Even before the autumn’s gone
Already have become a bother
Throwing your whole life away
Sacrificed to the thirst for gold
But when you saw your life was through
All your money was no use
Clinging, craving and the like
I don’t have them on my mind
That’s why nowadays I can say
The whole world is truly mine!
Since, after all this floating world
Instead of holding onto things in
Your mind, go and sing!
Only original mind exists
In the past and in the future too
Instead of holding onto things in
Your mind, let them go!
the demon mind yourself
When it torments you mercilessly
You’re to blame and no one else
When you do wrong
our mind’s the demon
There’s no hell
To be found outside
Longing for heaven
You make yourself suffer
In a joyful world
You think that good
Means hating what is bad
What’s bad is
The hating mind itself
Fame, wealth, eating and
drinking, sleep and sensual delight –
Once you’ve leaned the Five Desires
Your guide in life
Notions of what one should do
Never existed from the start
Fighting about what’s right, what’s wrong
That’s the doing of the “I”
When your study
Of Buddhism is through
You haven’t anything new
If you think the mind
That attains enlightenment
Is “mine” Your thoughts will wrestle, one with the other
These days I’m not bothering about
Getting enlightenment all the time
And the result is I wake up in the morning feeling fine!
Praying for salvation in the world to come
Praying for your own selfish ends
Is only piling on more and more
Self-centeredness and arrogance
Die — then live
Day and night within the world
Once you’ve done this, then you can
Hold the world right in your hand!
If you search for the Pure Land
Bent upon your own reward
You’ll only find yourself
despised By the Buddha after all!
People have no enemies
None at all right from the start
You create them all yourself
Fighting over right and wrong
Clear are the workings of causeand effect
You become deluded, but don’t know
It’s something that you’ve done yourself
That’s what’s called self-centeredness
Though the years may creep ahead
Mind itself can never age
This mind that’s
Always just the same
When you’ve searched
and found at last
The one who never will grow old
— “I alone!”
The Pure Land
Where one communes at peace
Is here and now, it’s not remote
Millions and millions of leagues away
When someone tosses you a tea bowl
— Catch it!
Catch it nimbly with soft cotton
With the cotton of your skillful mind!
The incoming breath brings in all the positive things outside me
And permeates the whole nervous system of my body;
Like the rays of the morning sun dispelling the darkness
It soothes the pain and temporary discomfort.
As I retain the breath, let me sustain
The vital energy of wakefulness and alertness
Enabling me to let go and forgive the past
And to enjoy the fresh manifestation of this bare moment.
My outgoing breath releases all feelings
Of tension, anger, stress, anxiety and worry;
Like the masses of dark clouds suddenly disappearing
Let the adventitious circumstances elapse to dawn a new beginning.
Breathing and observing the bare moments of awareness
Without assuming what it will become
May I live every moment with pristine awareness,
Without waiting for an unforeseen future to cultivate it.
Following the wise sages by respecting their words of wisdom
Let me remember skilful ways to apply them in everything
I do, say and think, so that my conduct brings no harm to others
And I do not become a victim of what I do, say and think.
While watching the constant flow of thoughts
Without discriminating between those that are good or bad
Let me neither be overjoyed with my meditation
Nor depressed by my lack of concentration.
Sinking in a withdrawal of the senses
Is relaxation of the conscious self, but not meditation.
Let me not be excited by the slight virtues of concentration
I have just begun to experience.
Holding the rope of mindfulness and the hook of alertness,
May I resolve to tame this mind which is like a wild elephant.
Steadily focusing the mind with a moderate application of antidotes,
May I discover what causes its restlessness.
When I find no sensory objects which are not my own reflection,
All visions and experiences are circumferences of myself.
Like trees and mountains, rivers and the earth
My existence is to give and share what I have with others.
How can I cling to and graps what I have obtained from others?
As soon as I let something go, I create space and experience joy;
As soon as I give things away, I find a joy not found in keeping them.
Learning to cherish others will bring me a happiness that will last.

Silent inner joy is much more lasting than the enjoyment of eating chocolate and cake. That enjoyment is also just a conception. When you close off your superficial sense perception and investigate your inner nature, you begin to awaken. Why? Because superficial sense perception prevents you from seeing the reality of how discursive thought comes and goes. When you shut down your senses, your mind becomes more conscious and functions better. When your superficial senses are busy, your mind is kind of dark; it’s totally preoccupied by the way your senses are interpreting things. Thus, you can’t see reality. Therefore, when you are tied by ideas and the sense world, instead of stressing out, stop your sense perception and silently watch your mind. Try to be totally awake instead of obsessed with just one atom. Feel totality instead of particulars. You can’t determine for yourself the way things should be. Things change by their very nature. How can you tie down any idea? You can see that you can’t. When you investigate the way you think—“Why do I say this is good? Why do I say this is bad?”—you start to get real answers as to how your mind really works. You can see how most of your ideas are silly but how your mind makes them important. If you check up properly you can see that these ideas are really nothing. By checking like this, you end up with nothingness in your mind. Let your mind dwell in that state of nothingness. It is so peaceful; so joyful. If you can sit every morning with a silent mind for just ten or twenty minutes, you will enjoy it very much. You’ll be able to observe the moment-to-moment movement of your emotions without getting sad. You will also see the outside world and other people differently; you will never see them as hindrances to your life and they will never make you feel insecure. Therefore, beauty comes from the mind.
So, that was the experience of silence. You can discuss what I’ve been saying through your own experience. Observing and investigating your
mind is so simple; very simple. Constantly, wherever you go, at any time, you can experience this energy. It’s always with you. But chocolate isn’t
the peaceful stillness of the silent mind . . .always with you—when you want it, it’s not there and when you don’t feel like it, there it is in front of you.
The joy of the silent experience comes from your own mind. Therefore, joy is always with you. Whenever you need it, it’s always there.
For the most fortunate ones, I have made these concise words of heartfelt advice.
Through this, may every single conscious being be established in Great Truth.
You are receiving everything that you need to learn who you are, in baby steps. Conscious evolution is the process of deliberately feeding yourself Reality in order to progress faster. To rise above being limited to this realm. When you do this, you no longer have to learn from cause and effect, sorrow and elation’s, for your actions originate from Truth.
Beyond all suffering, There is nothing but beauty. There are guaranteed ways to achieve this (awareness). To remain this Reality. Going within, diving into The Presence, Meditation, and more. The important thing is to return to the Source, the experience of complete happiness every single day, to reset yourself. Then, you consciously spread this Reality unto everyone in your life.
Something wonderful and amazing will happen. You will be transformed. Those immersed in emanating pain to others will no longer be attracted to your presence. You will create New Life. You will create the bubble of happiness that supersedes all ‘head knowledge’, all debating, all doubt, fear. For you have tapped into the Source of your own life. And there is nothing but beauty.
By practicing further you perfect the training so that, finally, your conceptual thinking and the all-ground along with its moving force dissolve into un-fabricated Field of Truth. That is the attainment of the natural abode of awareness.
Just as you cannot find any ordinary stones on an island of gold even if you search for them all that appears and exists will be experienced as the realm of Truth. Attaining stability is when everything has become all-encompassing purity.
Do not search for the truth; only cease to cherish opinions. Do not remain in the dualistic state — avoid such pursuits carefully. If there is even a trace of this and that, of right and wrong, the Mind-essence will be lost in confusion. Although all dualities come from the One, do not be attached even to this One. When the mind exists undisturbed in the Way, nothing in the world can offend, and when such a thing can no longer offend, it ceases to exist in the old way. When no discriminating thoughts arise, the old mind ceases to exist. When thought objects vanish, the thinking-subject vanishes, as when the mind vanishes, objects vanish. Things are objects because of the subject (mind); the mind (subject) is such because of things (object). Understand the relativity of these two and the basic reality: the unity of emptiness.
In this emptiness the two are indistinguishable and each contains in itself the whole world. If you do not discriminate between coarse and fine you will not be tempted to prejudice and opinion. To live in the Great Way is neither easy nor difficult, but those with limited views are fearful and irresolute; the faster they hurry, the slower they go, and clinging (attachment) cannot be limited; even to be attached to the idea of enlightenment is to go astray.
Just let things be in their own way and there will be neither coming nor going. Obey the nature of things (your own nature), and you will walk freely and undisturbed. When thought is in bondage the truth is hidden, for everything is murky and unclear, and the burdensome practice of judging brings annoyance and weariness. What benefits can be derived from distinctions and separations? If you wish to move in the One Way do not dislike even the world of senses and ideas. Indeed, to accept them fully is identical with true Enlightenment.
The wise man strives to no goals but the foolish man fetters himself. There is one Truth, not many; distinctions arise from the clinging needs of the ignorant. To seek Mind with the (discriminating) mind is the greatest of all mistakes. Rest and unrest derive from illusion; with enlightenment there is no liking and disliking. All dualities come from ignorant inference. They are like dreams or flowers in air: foolish to try to grasp them. Gain and loss, right and wrong: such thoughts must finally be abolished at once.
If the eye never sleeps, all dreams will naturally cease. If the mind makes no discriminations, the ten thousand things are as they are, of single essence.
To understand the mystery of this One-essence is to be released from all entanglements. When all things are seen equally the timeless Self-essence is reached. No comparisons or analogies are possible in this causeless, relationless state. Consider movement stationary and the stationary in motion, both movement and rest disappear. When such dualities cease to exist Oneness itself cannot exist.
To this ultimate finality no law or description applies. For the unified mind in accord with the Way all self-centered striving ceases. Doubts and irresolutions vanish and life in true faith is possible. With a single stroke we are freed from bondage; nothing clings to us and we hold to nothing. All is empty, clear, self-illuminating, with no exertion of the mind’s power. Here thought, feeling, knowledge, and imagination are of no value. In this world of suchness there is neither self nor other-than-self.
To come directly into harmony with this reality just simply say when doubt arises, ‘Not two.’ In this ‘not two’ nothing is separate, nothing is excluded. No matter when or where, enlightenment means entering this Truth. And this truth is beyond extension or diminution in time or space; in it a single thought is ten thousand years. Emptiness here, Emptiness there, but the infinite universe stands always before your eyes. Infinitely large and infinitely small; no difference, for definitions have vanished and no boundaries are seen.
So too with Being and Non-Being. Don’t waste time with doubts and arguments that have nothing to do with this. One thing, all things: move among and intermingle, without distinction. To live in this realization is to be without anxiety about non-perfection. To live in this faith is the road to non-duality, because the non-dual is one with trusting mind.
Words! The Way is beyond language, for in it there is no yesterday, no tomorrow, no today.
Part way through this particular talk, Krishnamurti suddenly paused, leaned forward, and said, almost conspiratorially, “Do you want to know what my secret is?” Almost as though we were one body we sat up, even more alert than we had been, if that was possible. I could see people all around me lean forward, their ears straining and their mouths slowly opening in hushed anticipation.
Krishnamurti rarely ever talked about himself or his own process, and now he was about to give us his secret! He was in many ways a mountaintop teacher—somewhat distant, aloof, seemingly unapproachable, unless you were part of his inner circle. Yet that’s why we came to Ojai every spring, to see if we could find out just what his secret was. We wanted to know how he managed to be so aware and enlightened, while we struggled with conflict and our numerous problems.
There was a silence. Then he said in a soft, almost shy voice, “You see, I don’t mind what happens.”
I don’t mind what happens. That is the essence of inner freedom. It is a timeless spiritual truth: release attachment to outcomes, and—deep inside yourself—you’ll feel good no matter what. You’ll feel good because you are connected to, one with, the energy of the universe, the beauty and power of creation itself. Or, as Krishnamurti himself put it:
‘When you live with this awareness, this sensitivity, life has an astonishing way of taking care of you.
Then there is no problem of security, of what people say or do not say, and that is the beauty of life.’
And just remaining in the natural state as it is, the presence of non-dual contemplation continuously spontaneously arises.
At the site of your regular sitting, spread out thick matting and place a cushion above it. Sit either in the full-lotus or half-lotus position. In the full-lotus position, you first place your right foot on your left thigh and your left foot on your right thigh. In the half-lotus, you simply press your left foot against your right thigh. You should have your robes and belt loosely bound and arranged in order. Then place your right hand on your left leg and your left palm (facing upwards) on your right palm, thumb-tips touching. Thus sit upright in correct bodily posture, neither inclining to the left nor to the right, neither leaning forward nor backward. Be sure your ears are on a plane with your shoulders and your nose in line with your navel. Place your tongue against the front roof of your mouth, with teeth and lips both shut.
Your eyes should always remain open, and you should breathe gently through your nose.
Once you have adjusted your posture, take a deep breath, inhale and exhale, rock your body right and left and settle into a steady, immobile sitting position. Think not-thinking. How do you think not-thinking? Non-thinking. This in itself is the essential art of zazen.
The zazen I speak of is not learning meditation. It is simply the Dharma gate of repose and bliss, the practice-realization of totally culminated enlightenment. It is the manifestation of ultimate reality. Traps and snares can never reach it. Once its heart is grasped, you are like the dragon when he gains the water, like the tiger when she enters the mountain. For you must know that just there (in zazen) the right Dharma is manifesting itself and that, from the first, dullness and distraction are struck aside.
When you arise from sitting, move slowly and quietly, calmly and deliberately. Do not rise suddenly or abruptly. In surveying the past, we find that transcendence of both unenlightenment and enlightenment, and dying while either sitting or standing, have all depended entirely on the strength (of zazen).
In addition, the bringing about of enlightenment by the opportunity provided by a finger, a banner, a needle, or a mallet, and the effecting of realization with the aid of a hossu, a fist, a staff, or a shout, cannot be fully understood by discriminative thinking. Indeed, it cannot be fully known by the practicing or realizing of supernatural powers, either. It must be deportment beyond hearing and seeing–is it not a principle that is prior to knowledge and perceptions?
This being the case, intelligence or lack of it does not matter: between the dull and the sharp-witted there is no distinction. If you concentrate your effort single-mindedly, that in itself is negotiating the Way. Practice-realization is naturally undefiled. Going forward (in practice) is a matter of everydayness.
In general, this world, and other worlds as well, both in India and China, equally hold the Buddha-seal, and over all prevails the character of this school, which is simply devotion to sitting, total engagement in immobile sitting. Although it is said that there are as many minds as there are persons, still they all negotiate the way solely in zazen. Why leave behind the seat that exists in your home and go aimlessly off to the dusty realms of other lands? If you make one misstep, you go astray from the Way directly before you.
You have gained the pivotal opportunity of human form. Do not use your time in vain. You are maintaining the essential working of the Buddha-Way. Who would take wasteful delight in the spark from the flintstone? Besides, form and substance are like the dew on the grass, destiny like the dart of lightning–emptied in an instant, vanished in a flash.
Please, honored followers of Zen, long accustomed to groping for the elephant, do not be suspicious of the true dragon. Devote your energies to a way that directly indicates the absolute. Revere the person of complete attainment who is beyond all human agency. Gain accord with the enlightenment of the buddhas; succeed to the legitimate lineage of the ancestors’ samadhi. Constantly perform in such a manner and you are assured of being a person such as they. Your treasure-store will open of itself, and you will use it at will.
Realise that the Absolute which is neither subtle nor gross: neither short nor long: without birth or change: without form, qualities, colour and name. That by the light of which the luminous, orbs like the Sun and the Moon are illuminated, but which is not illumined by their light, realise that to be Absolute Being. Pervading the entire universe outwardly and inwardly the Supreme Being shines of Itself like the fire that permeates a red-hot iron-ball and glows by itself.
The Absolute Being is none other than this, the universe. There exists nothing that is not Absolute Being. If any object other than the Absolute appears to exist, it is unreal like the mirage. All that is perceived, or heard, is Absolute Being and nothing else. Attaining the knowledge of the One Reality, one sees the Universe as the non-dual Being, Existence-Knowledge-Bliss-Absolute.
Pure Consciousness is ever present everywhere, yet It is perceived by the eye-of-wisdom alone: but one whose vision is obscured by ignorance he does not see It; as the blind do not see the resplendent Sun. The Meditator free from impurities, being heated in the fire of knowledge kindled by learning and so on, shines of itself like gold. Pure consciousness the Sun of Knowledge that rises in the sky of the heart, destroys the darkness of the ignorance, pervades and sustains all and shines and makes everything to shine.
He who renouncing all activities, who is free of all the limitations of time, space and direction, worships his own pure consciousness which is present everywhere, which is the destroyer of heat and cold, which is Bliss-Eternal and stainless, becomes All-knowing and All-pervading and attains thereafter Immortality.
We should also avoid thinking of ourselves as worthless persons – we are naturally free and unconditioned. We are intrinsically enlightened and lack nothing. When engaging in meditation practice, we should feel it to be as natural as eating, breathing and defecating. It should not become a specialized or formal event, bloated with seriousness and solemnity.
We should realize that meditation transcends effort, practice, aims, goals and the duality of liberation and non-liberation. Meditation is always ideal; there is no need to correct anything. Since everything that arises is simply the play of the mind as such, there is no unsatisfactory meditation and no need to judge thoughts as good or bad.
Therefore we should simply sit. Simply stay in your own place, in your own condition just as it is.Forgetting self-conscious feelings, we do not have to think ‘I am meditating’.Our practice should be without effort, without strain, without attempts to control or force and without trying to become ‘peaceful’. If we find that we are disturbing ourselves in any of these ways, we stop meditating and simply rest or relax for a while. Then we resume our meditation.
If we have ‘interesting experiences’ either during or after meditation we should avoid making anything special of them. To spend time thinking about experiences is simply a distraction and an attempt to become unnatural. These experiences are simply signs of practice and should be regarded as transient events. We should not attempt to re-experience them because to do so only serves to distort the natural spontaneity of Mind. All phenomena are completely new and fresh, absolutely unique and entirely free from all concepts of past, present and future. They are experienced in timelessness. The continual stream of new discovery, revelation and inspiration which arises at every moment is the manifestation of our clarity.
We should learn to see everyday life as mandala – the luminous fringes of experience, which radiate spontaneously from the empty nature of our being. The aspects of our mandala are the day-to-day objects of our life experience moving in the dance or play of the universe. By this symbolism the inner teacher reveals the profound and ultimate significance of being.
Therefore we should be natural and spontaneous, accepting and learning from everything. This enables us to see the ironic and amusing side of events that usually irritate us. In meditation we can see through the illusion of past, present and future – our experience becomes the continuity of nowness. The past is only an unreliable memory held in the present. The future is only a projection of our present conceptions. The present itself vanishes as soon as we try to grasp it. So why bother with attempting to establish an illusion of solid ground? We should free ourselves from our present memories and preconceptions of meditation.
Each moment of meditation is completely unique and full of potentiality. In such moments, we will be incapable of judging our meditation in terms of past experience, dry theory of hollow rhetoric. Simply plunging directly into meditation in the moment now, with our whole being, free from hesitation, boredom or excitement, is – Enlightenment.
If you would spend all your time – walking, standing, sitting or lying down – learning to halt the concept-forming activities of your own mind, you could be sure of ultimately attaining the goal.
…If you students of the Way seek to progress through seeing, hearing, feeling and knowing, when you are deprived of your perceptions, your ways to Mind will be cut off and you will find nowhere to enter.
Do not keep them nor abandon them nor dwell in them nor cleave to them. Above, below and around you, all is spontaneously existing, for there is nowhere which is outside Buddha-Mind.
Only awake to the One Mind and there is nothing whatever to be attained.
This pure Mind, the source of everything, shines forever and on all with the brilliance of its own perfection. But the people of the world do not awake to it, regarding only that which sees, hears, feels and knows as mind…. If they would only eliminate all conceptual thought in a flash, that source-substance would manifest itself like a sun….
Ordinary people look to their surroundings, while followers of the Way look to Mind, but the true Dharma is to forget them both. The former is easy enough, the latter very difficult. Men are afraid to forget their minds, fearing to fall through the Void with nothing to stay their fall. They do not know that the Void is not really void, but the realm of the real Dharma.
So you students of the Way should immediately refrain from all conceptual thought. Let a tacit understanding be all! Any mental processes must lead to error. There is just a transmission of Mind with Mind.
The Place of Precious Things:
That which is called the Place of Precious Things is the real Mind, the original Buddha-Essence, the treasure of our own real Nature…. Where is the Place of Precious Things? It is a place to which no directions can be given…. All we can say is that it is close by.
The Ignorant Seeker:
Many people are afraid to empty their minds lest they may plunge into the Void. They do not know that their own Mind is the void. The ignorant [seekers] eschew phenomena but not thought; the wise [seekers] eschew thought but not phenomena.
If an ordinary man, when he is about to die, could only see the five elements of his consciousness as void; the four physical elements as not constituting an ‘I’; the real Mind as formless and neither coming nor going; his nature as something neither commencing at his birth nor perishing at his death, but as whole and motionless in its very depths; his Mind and environmental objects as one – if he could really accomplish this, he would receive Enlightenment in a flash. He would no longer be entangled by the Triple World; he would be a World-Transcendor.
The Supreme Way:
…To awaken suddenly to the fact that your own Mind is the Buddha, that there is nothing to be attained or a single action to be performed – this is the Supreme Way….
Some meditators believe the genuine path is as soon as a thought arises, recognizing the thought and thinker as nondual.
These practices are good for beginners, but if you continue to meditate this way, it’s like compounding delusion upon delusion. If you practice this way, and achieve joy, clarity and non-conceptuality, and an inflated sense of having ascended to some high tower from which you look down on others with a haughty attitude, like sitting in the saddle of a fine horse, or posing on a high throne as some lamas do, how can you ever hope to ascend from the depths of samsara? It’s like lifting a big stone out of the bottom of the ocean. Grasping still occurs and liberation is out of the question.
When you engage in the path, if you focus single pointedly on an object, and forcefully block thoughts, more thoughts will arise, and you will become miserable, sick and mad. But if you are like a shepherd looking at thoughts from afar, then everything that arises will be seen with clarity, the mind is identified as awareness, and what is seen is understood as movement. In this stable experience, joy, clarity and non-conceptuality will arise. When you fuse stillness, movement and awareness, thoughts will be self-knowing, self-illuminating. What is crucial is not to lose your ground in terms of clear awareness free of hope and fear, negation and affirmation.
When I was young, I heard people say that meditation was a fine path to spiritual awakening. Giving this careful thought, I believed this path was something you could see, feel and hear, and so I thought if these old monks can do it, why can’t I? So I went to a remote area, sat in solitude, and waited for three days for meditation to arise. On the third day I got pooped and fell asleep. I had a dream of a white child who asked me, ‘What are you doing here?’ I replied, ‘I’m waiting to see meditation.’ The child closed his eyes and sang the following song:
‘Hey, hey! You blind boy who wishes to enter the genuine path, listen! The body is like a paper bag carried away by the wind; the speech is like the sound of wind in a tube; the mind is the creator of both samsara and nirvana. Among these three, mind is foremost. You will wait a long time to see meditation.’ Then I woke up.
A few days later I had another dream of a yogin who called himself Orgyen Padma Vajra, who placed a vase on my head and said, ‘Investigate first the origin of the mind, second its location, and third its destination.’ Then he dissolved into me.
Another night I dreamed of a red yogin who called himself Orgyen Speech Vajra who said, “Thoughts are called movement; that which understands them is called awareness; and remaining in that understanding is called stillness. Never be separate from these three.’ Then he dissolved into me.
Three years later a young woman appeared in a dream. She placed 13 white mustard seeds on the surface of a clear mirror, then held it at my heart and sang this song:
‘Ema! Child of clear light, your own mind is the ground of all of samsara and nirvana. Its origin is empty, its location is empty, its departure is empty. It is spontaneously present in great emptiness. Your mind is a mirror that transcends causes and conditions. Like a mirror, it gives rise to various reflections, but its essential nature is unchanging. Distinguish between mind and awareness. They have the same ground, but they are not the same. The mind is what becomes deluded in samsara; awareness recognizes the nature of existence. Identify ground awareness. Child of wisdom awareness, this is the secret treasure of the dakinis.’ Then she dissolved into me, and my body, speech and mind were pervaded with bliss.
Applying myself to identifying luminous awareness, at times I had the sense that appearances, and that which recognizes appearances were nondual. Sometimes this experience appeared outside. Sometimes this experience appeared inside. Sometimes nondual appearance and awareness went out to the object then vanished. I knew these experiences were due to grasping to the ground as an object. At other times, grasping onto phenomena naturally dissolved when I relaxed into the all-pervasive, originally pure ground. Then the creative displays arose naturally and dissolved in a state free from antidote.
A mind devoid of activities, free from hope and fear, is reality itself, which can be likened to the sun rising in a clear sky. This is spontaneously present awareness, the dharmakaya. The essential nature of the ground is that all self-arising appearances naturally release themselves. The ground and appearance is nondual, like the sun and its rays. Mind grasps to phenomena; awareness doesn’t. Appearances, which are the creative display of the expansive ground of awareness, naturally dissolve in the primordial womb like waves in the ocean.
Later, in a dream, I saw Orgyen Dorje Trolod in an expanse of flame and light, and he was chanting a song of Hung:
‘Hung hung. Do you understand that the cord that holds you to samsara is the duality of subject and object? Do you understand that joy and sorrow, your environment and companions, are manifestations of light and dark, devoid of true existence like a dream? Although space is free of periphery or center, it doesn’t go beyond the expanse of awareness. Space is none other than the expanse of awareness itself. Supplicating the demon above you grasp to the buddha; supplicating the demon below you grasp to delusive appearances. These are both products of reification. Do you understand that all appearances are natural projections of thoughts? Do you understand that samsara and nirvana are nondual displays within the ground expanse of the absolute nature? Do you understand that dynamic energy is naturally released into the all-pervasive nature without meditation? All grasping is devoid of substance. Subject and object are one taste. Myself and emanations of myself are primordially one with the mother’s womb of the great expanse.’ Then Orgyen Dorje Trolod dissolved into me.
Samsara and nirvana are co-arising, but these are one, not two. It is very important to understand that the nature of being is the great perfection of samsara and nirvana. Don’t be satisfied with just the empty aspect of the view, but have the all-embracing dzogchen view. Good and bad are expressions of your own nature. The five buddhafields are the creative expression of the expanse of primordial wisdom. The compassionate buddha appears spontaneously, without effort.
Heh, heh! The originally pure absolute nature is free from the extreme of dualistic grasping. The palace of pure light is the display of pure presence. From the nondual realm of bliss and emptiness pure awareness beings arise as the face of natural being. From this effortless place, I naturally encountered these beings and received these quintessential instructions from the treasury of the expanse of reality itself.
Heh, heh! The essential nature free from extremes is the primordial ground, originally pure. Don’t look for any buddha apart from this. All fictitious appearances are perfected in the expanse of your own natural awareness. This is the meaning of the Great Perfection.
In the unchanging field of all-pervasive bliss and emptiness arising as the expanse, the sun of clear light neither rises nor sets. In the fortress of fearlessness, in the palace of spontaneous presence seated on the immutable throne, never disengaged from skillful means and wisdom, I, a useless old man, have held my own ground as an embodiment of reality itself, arising as Dorje Trolod, standing on the corpse of mental afflictions.
My path is the essential nature. I am not bound by reified practices. I have a way of practice without meditation or propitiation. This way is all-pervasive, free from extremes, holding one’s ground without antidote or structure. It is unmixed with intellectual analysis, and without focus. Whatever comes up, let it go. Here is a practice free from activity which transcends good and bad, hope and fear. Awakening to suffering and peace as being the expanse of reality, I have cut from my heart the darkness of ignorance. Mental afflictions are dispelled in total openness, in clear, empty wisdom awareness, the womb of non-objectivity.
These verses are the foolish dharma of an idiot who wears mud and feathers for clothing.
“In many shamanic societies, if you came to a shaman or medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, or depressed, they would ask one of four questions. When did you stop dancing? When did you stop singing? When did you stop being enchanted by stories? When did you stop finding comfort in the sweet territory of silence?
Where we have stopped dancing, singing, being enchanted by stories, or finding comfort in silence is where we have experienced the loss of soul. Dancing, singing, storytelling, and silence are the four universal healing salves.”
~ The Four-Fold Way: Walking the Paths of the Warrior ~
People who love animals and open spaces often have little use for other people. Naturalist David Attenborough recently described humans as “a plague on earth”. David Foreman of Earth First has set a goal of reducing the world’s human population to 100 million.
Does the earth have too many people for its own good? Can another three or four billion be added (the current United Nations projection for 2100) without fatally harming the planet?
The issue is not one of how many people the planet can support, but how wastefully and aggressively those people act.
Ten thousand years ago, with less than five million people on the Earth, large animals were already being hunted to extinction by aggressive humans. It was the domestication of plants and animals that filled the world with both humans and large herbivores. Today, with seven billion people, these herds of pigs and cattle satisfy our ever-growing demand for meat.
Untouched wilderness seems scarcer (although national parks in the US remain much as they were a century ago, once you leave the concession stands and roadside attractions). But true wilderness, untouched by humans, on Amazon rainforest and American plains ceased to exist thousands of years ago when human populations were a tiny fraction of what they are today. Native Americans burned, dug, and reshaped the forests and plains to suit their needslong before Columbus brought guns and horses to the New World.
Won’t too many people drain food supplies, produce poverty and damage the climate? Again, it is not the number of people but how they act that matters. Food supplies are fine – it is food distribution that is the problem. Malnutrition remains a problem, even among the obese, because while they get plenty of calories from sugary and starchy processed foods, they lack access to fresh and varied diets rich in minerals and vitamins. The latter is a matter of income distribution and marketing. Humans today eat too much meat and too much sugar and too much alcohol; healthier diets would be better for the planet as well as for people.
The last 30 years have seen both the fastest global population growth in history and the largest reductions in poverty in history. As populations in Asia have moved into cities and raised their incomes, while farming has gained in efficiency, ever-larger populations have found better jobs and been better housed and fed than ever. As long as people become more productive, more of them means a higher standard of living for all, not lower.
Fears of climate change now reverberate widely. But again, the problem is not too many people. Far more damage was done to Earth’s climate by clorofluorocarbons used to power air conditioners for a tiny number of people in rich countries in the 1960s and 1970s, before they were banned, than by all the billions of people who have ever lived in poorer nations. Learning how to heat and cool our homes, and power our cars and factories, in more efficient and less climate-influencing ways is a priority.
People who fear overpopulation commit the fallacy of simply multiplying faults – they take the most harmful and wasteful actions of any set of people today and multiply it by the growing number of people in the world. The auto emissions and air conditioning habits of Los Angeles in the 1970s, for example, were unsustainable. But as the number of people grew, their habits and behaviour changed in order to improve their environment. They did not stop driving or air-conditioning. Yet they succeeded in finding cleaner and more efficient ways to carry out those activities. The result is that cities in Europe and North America, though many times larger than they were in 1900, are cleaner, healthier and more pleasant places than they were when their populations were far smaller.
There are some places in the world today where populations are still growing too fast. Particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, women in many countries still have four to five children, a rate of growth that can undermine further progress.
Yet what we have seen in many poor countries is that if families shift to having less than four children per family, a virtuous cycle kicks in: with fewer children, families can spend more to educate them. Educated young people themselves tend to have fewer children and invest more in them. This cycle thus kicks progress forward very quickly and leads to falling birth rates.
Doing away with billions of people is no substitute for doing away with the vices in people’s behaviour. Instead we need to pursue cleaner, healthier, and more ecologically sound lifestyles and ways of satisfying our needs. For that we need more, not less, creative and passionate people to guide us to a better future. The planet can handle it, if we improve how we handle ourselves.

The Matrix as Prakriti produces the hologram for the Oneness.
The external world of objects is ‘real’ enough to the five senses.
The five senses transmit signals/waveforms of sound, light, etc. to the brain, which acts as a receiver.
These signals carry the appearance of duality, differentiated multiplicity.
This ‘appearance’ of multiplicity is the job, the function of the five senses.
The five senses are the tools of the Matrix.
In Sanskrit the Matrix is termed Maya, meaning the power of creative illusion, or Matrika in Kashmir Shaivism.
She is the feminine polarity, the Yin side, and she produces the hologram for the Oneness as the Observer that dwells in the Heart.
This Heart is not the physical heart that pumps blood around your body; it is the seat of consciousness in your being.
The Observer within you remains connected to and united with the Oneness; it remains pure – untouched by any act good or evil.
The Observer is the ATMA/Soul or Spirit/Purusha.
Identify your consciousness with that Observer within you.
You are That. Tat Tvam Asi.
You have always been that. Remember.
Thus non-duality, meaning the Oneness, and duality, the appearance of multiplicity in the hologram, do exist simultaneously.
The hologram is temporal, fleeting – the Oneness is eternal.
The film ‘The Matrix‘ contained some fundamental truths that many around the planet instinctively responded to. The universe is indeed a temporal illusory holographic matrix made up of varying frequencies, waveforms pulsating at specific vibratory rates. Beneath the Veil, the ‘curtain of each atom’, there really is nothing out there but a vast ocean of etheric energy, the AKASHA, the silent unheard sound.
Everything you see or hear or touch is nothing more than electrical signals being transmitted by the five senses through this underlying etheric ocean to your brain. Each of these senses supports the others in the illusion generated by the amazing intensely creative power of MAYA and the GUNAS, Prakriti’s three modes. These signals are interpreted according to our programming from birth and our DNA.
The first ‘Matrix’ film revealed far too much truth. The computer related metaphors, so brilliantly accessed by the film’s writers, reached the normally impenetrable psyches of too many previously semi-somnolent humanoids. The first film conveys the solid gold truth that the matrix isn’t real. This is in complete alignment with timeless primordial metaphysical principles and the eternal truth that understands the real nature of this universe as a temporal illusory hologram.
In the Kali Yuga it is the ‘job’ of the Darkside Forces to continually confuse and numb the inhabitants of this our world. There is a War in the Heavens, and as above so below. The darkside entities are here in ever increasing numbers for the purpose of further deluding us into a complete and total ignorance of the Real. The frequency wave bands emitted from most forms of electrical-electronic appliances and machines excel at this capacity to confuse, delude, and stupefy. The Veil in these last days of the Kali Yuga has indeed become Borg-like.
In the early part of the Matrix film, there is a very grotesque image of Neo pulling slimy long tendril-suckers off of his body. This scene is so repulsive because it is true. I realize that this is not very pleasant information – but as long as we have no idea what is happening to us, how can we free ourselves? In varying degrees, all of us are ‘hosts’ to these feeder entities. This is why vampire novels are so weirdly popular – people actually have an unconscious sense of what is happening.
Through the lower frequencies of our anger, fear, and addictions, the darkside astral parasites have attached themselves to us. This is one reason why all spiritual paths emphasize purity of mind and body. Purity simply reduces the ability of the lower realms to connect with you and become attached to you. They cannot locate frequencies they do not resonate with. Know that the Laws of Magnetism dictate that like attracts like – and that location is in fact a function of consciousness. Purity through wisdom Knowledge and a focused consciousness will keep any unwanted influences out of the field of the subtle etheric body.
Everything you are addicted to has the potential to attach you to a level of these entities. EVERYTHING! I have seen this so often over the years with friends who lost themselves to drugs and alcohol. Some of these parasitical entities are not only highly persuasive, but also very unattractive.
A most ingenious and effective Borg-like waveform-prison is television. Unplug yours, throw them out of your house, give them away, or shoot at them like Elvis did. Not only does TV’s 24/7 programming transmitted around the planet urge you to become good little consumers, and doom you to the misery of unrealized unrealistic goals, both physical and material – but the box itself emits questionable frequencies that do nothing for your God-given ability to access the Myriad Worlds and Remember who you are.
Newspapers are the same, and the Internet news has become more confused and confusing with 100s of professional disinformation and propaganda wizards, sock-puppets who are handsomely paid to keep us in our miasma of amnesia. This Kali Yuga confusion holds us in a frequency of POWERLESSNESS. So until we actually become powerful in a real sense, as in our inner connection to the God-within – forget it! Unplug! Get the cooties off of you.
I can tell you what the news will be for the next few years. Lets get it over with once and for all: More heinous wars, more needless deaths, more incurable diseases, more mind-wrenching torture, more oinker-greed and boring tyranny. Nature’s earth will continue to be irreversibly poisoned and her creatures die. Got it? That’s it folks. Now you know everything. So forget it! Unplug!
Are you in love with love? Waiting for that perfect person to transport you into a higher reality and fix everything for you? As someone has aptly said, ‘Romance is candy for your brain’. It’s a bunch of lovely hormones designed to give you a momentary high and get you to procreate. It never lasts. Never! Forget it! Unplug.
If you have a deep love and friendship with someone who is as evolved as you are and you are certain you share a similar frequency – fine, wonderful. But when you bond with someone whose hologram is vibrating at a lower frequency than yours – and remember us humanz are very complex energy patterns full of surprises – then you take the chance of being drawn down into their reality. Casual sex is definitely not casual for anyone on the way Home – it’s an elevator going down. Is the temporary fix comfort zone worth it?
All addictions will hold you in the illusion of the polarity Matrix. Attached to each addiction is a direct sucker line to a group of scurrilous entities you would not want to go bowling with. This means ALL addictions, no exceptions. Compulsion is a symptom indicating astral parasites. Anytime you feel compelled to consume anything, you are feeding the astral-cooties who need your energy to survive and thrive because they cannot produce their own.
Cut them off, pull their plugs off of your body. Raise your frequency and watch them disappear. Addictions are entry points that leave you open for the astral parasites to make themselves at home. This is how so many beautiful souls from the 1960s, many of who were my dear friends and loved ones, were destroyed. I am the witness.
How about some pretty visions to make you think you are so ‘spiritual’? Want to channel one of the 1000s of aliens and astral entities out there? I can promise you, that’s a learning curve. Certainly not all of these entities are malevolent. They simply have their own point of view, their own agenda, and their own consciousness relative to their level of evolvement. They don’t necessarily know any more than you do.
How about having astral entities as your primary relationship? They can appear to you as anything they know you want, even angels, anything that’s already programmed into that very subtle brain of ours – anything. Someday when it is too late, they’ll show you what they really look like – but that would make you throw up now and then you might not want to feed them any more. Trust only the God-within you.
The vast array of chemicals in our food, air, and water quite literally confuses the endocrine system. EDCs, endocrine disrupting chemicals, mimic estrogen and god-only-knows what else to confuse your own natural hormones. These molecules are diabolical. Not only do they very likely contribute to obesity, cancer, sterility, and memory loss – they also shut down the Third Eye, the pineal gland. Our ability to ‘SEE’ the Invisible Realms is regulated by the pineal and pituitary glands. Because these man-made molecules send confusing signals to them, they can’t work properly. Do you think this is accidental?
I know this sounds scary, after all we can’t even see these things – what chance do we have? But remember, WE CREATED THEM! They are an integral part of the temporal illusory holographic matrix. As pieces of God, the Oneness, we created these astral darkside demonic entities to help hold together this polarity universe.
But when we created this universe — one of many — we weren’t completely stupid. We left something out of their hologram and thus they are weaker than we are. They don’t understand LOVE. They only grok power, control and manipulation. They have no feelings. And thus through the feelings of compassion, forgiveness, kindness, and love we can move right out of their range of frequencies, beyond the scope of their polarity matrix hologram, into the higher frequencies, beyond their prison – and the whole thing will collapse.
In the Twilight of the Kali Yuga, the world has become a LIE, an expression of the delusion, ignorance, and the amnesia, the Forgetting. Everything you see and hear in this illusory polarity matrix is a LIE! Because – and this is simple – the only Real is that EVERYTHING IS LOVE!
ALL polarity paradigms are temporal illusions designed by us with our invisible helpers in the astral, the forces of the ‘darkside’, to hold together the projected illusion of multiplicity, this temporal holographic matrix, so we can PLAY the game of NOT being GOD! And we are God! Everyone and everything – yes, even the darkside entities.
There are endless, unknown, incredible worlds of Beauty and Love and Light, and every adventure yet even unimagined, waiting for us.
The Matrix is NOT real! Unplug!
I can’t do this for you. No one can. Thank God! If they could, they would own you. Saving or being saved is a slave game – not a God game!
I can’t do this for you. I can plead and beg you to unplug, to throw out your TVs, to not read your daily dose of propaganda, to kick your addictions – to pull the feeder lines off of your beautiful bodies and out of your auric field.
I can tell you what waits for you. I can tell you of floating in golden light feeling more love than anyone could ever give you. I can describe my visions and feelings and take you to fly through the galaxies. But my experiences will NOT be yours. Why should they be? Why would the Creator ever want to repeat and duplicate Itself?
I can tell you that you are heading for a place where THERE ARE NO REFERENCE POINTS! A location within where you will have grown beyond both the demons and the angels — a place where you will have earned freedom, because you will have experienced every polarity paradigm in all the time-space matrices and you are ready to create your own.
I cannot do this for you. NO ONE CAN! You have to choose it for yourself. Only your own courage can loosen the slimy sucker-tendrils that imprison you and drain your life force. Only the God-within you can know the precise sublime moment when you are ready to emerge from the Matrix – grinning ear to ear as you REMEMBER who you are!
How many of us will escape? I don’t know. I know that underneath our silly small identity egos, there is only LOVE – and that as the Real behind the multiplicity, we all ARE each other. Therefore when any one of us wakes up, it makes it easier for the rest. I know that if enough of us Remember, then the entire Illusion will collapse – because the darkside won’t have anything to feed on.
What will happen then? No one knows. No one wants to know, because then it wouldn’t be any fun. When you normally exist in Eternal Bliss, the exciting thing about a Free Will universe is that there are always at least 25 variations in the cycles of time and you don’t know exactly what will happen. It’s like meeting someone new or starting a new work of art – you embrace an entirely unknown realm of possibilities. You learn to improvise and create as you go along.
You and the God-within you, all of us will be generating a fresh reality for the Oneness to express in. We will all meet someday. We do realize by now that life on this planet is going to get much worse – the evidence is in. Don’t be afraid of Death – you are an eternal Being. Be aware of the seductive astral traps. Avoid all heavens and hells in the Phantasmal Hierarchies – they are illusions. No matter how seductive anyone or anything is, don’t listen! Go directly HOME to the God-within you.
When you see death, hunger, and sorrow try to know that each one of us chose this experience, even if we don’t now remember making that choice. Compassion is important and very distinct from anxiety, worry, fear and anger. These fear frequencies are all food for astral entities, the mind parasites. As they say at the zoo: Don’t feed the animals!
UNPLUG! The temporal holographic matrix is illusory!
I’m only beginning to lift the Veil. But from my heart, I hope one sweet day to see you all in the wild blue yonder of the immense immeasurable within.
The Only Refuge is a higher Consciousness. Your safety and ‘salvation’ can only be achieved by you, and through your own endeavors to create for yourself the consciousness of the Real, your Source, that eternal Oneness that we all are ‘beneath the curtain.’

Are we indeed living in the end of a Cycle of Time, facing a day of reckoning in the Twilight of the Kali Yuga, a PRALAYA meaning ‘Dissolution’ in Sanskrit. The acceptance of this possibility leads to the fear-loaded question of the Harvesting of Souls. The archaic phrase ‘harvesting of souls’ is in fact specious, wrong and misleading. There is only the One. There is only one Soul. We all share the same Soul, the Oneness.
“I am the same in all beings.” [Bhagavad Gita IX.29]
We exist individually as spirit or astral bodies that transmigrate, moving from one material body to another by the law of magnetism. Like attracts like. Our actions, thoughts and consciousness create the subtle or spirit body over hundreds of life times. In Sanskrit the subtle body is called the SHARIRA. Seers and psychics can easily see this body and read its condition.
The word harvesting is also misleading. No one can ‘take’ you or make you do anything unless you yourself have generated a consciousness that resonates with a particular force, a waveform that would then magnetize you into its similar frequency. Thereforea deeper understanding of the mechanics of this process will relieve you of fear and help you to realize why it is imperative to generate a high consciousness at every moment.
As you incarnate in Time and Space, you build a subtle body – also termed as the spirit or astral body. In Kashmir Shaivism is called the puryashtakarupa [Sanskrit]. Like the physical body, the subtle body contains a complex nervous system.
These “nerve currents are called Hita Nadis [Sanskrit] and they are very fine in structure, finer than even the thousandth part of a hair. Through these very fine, subtle nerve currents pass the serum of the essence of the human individual…” [Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, translated with commentaries by Swami Krishnananda and available online].
These subtle nerves store the impressions of our lives and our thoughts. Every thought, every experience is stored in this the subtle body that carries our individual consciousness from one life to another. This individuality is only a temporal ‘appearance’ for beneath all forms of multiplicity is the One, the eternal Real.
It is this aggregate, this cumulative consciousness that determines our next incarnation. Inevitably, inexorably we become that which our actions and thoughts, our own individual consciousness has self-created, self-generated. We alone are responsible. We are drawn to the external holographic manifestations of our own thoughts. There is no one to blame. It is all our doing. We are each a portion of the Oneness playing in Time and Space — like everyone else.
The eternal, imperishable, immutable Oneness assumes a temporal ‘appearance’ in a fragment of Its Self as the individual. When we are born we move into a new physical body and when we leave, meaning die, we do so in this subtle body. The subtle body is our data-collecting vehicle. It carries the five senses and the mind, the impressions (samskaras) of our experiences as “the wind carries scents.” [Bhagavad Gita XV.7 & 8]
From an understanding of the subtle body, we realize that no one can ever actually ‘take’ or harvest our soul. Our own consciousness has built the subtle spirit body. We will be magnetized to the-where-and-what it resonates with. Like attracts like – that simple!
Consciousness determines everything. In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna says that the god worshippers go to the gods, the god worlds; those who worship the ancestors go to them, the ancestral realms; those who sacrifice to the spirits go to the spirits (bhutani), the shaman worlds; and those who Know and Become the One merge into That. (BhG IX.25)
There is nothing wrong in any of these forms of worship. However, these approaches are only “partial manifestations of the highest reality.” [Abhinavagupta, Bhagavad Gita VII 21-23]
In previous Cycles of Time, we were not limited to the five sensesand we were aware of these off-world realms now invisible to most of us. As individuals we have played in these realms before. We may have bonds with them. If we humans were created by off-world beings, then it is only reasonable that they will want to salvage what is rightfully theirs – family DNA. However it is up to you to decide what you want and where you want to arrive.
The so-called extra-terrestrials are merely the inhabitants of the Myriad Realms. They may have grand technologies and may be very pretty, but are they enlightened? If they were enlightened would they be in these phantasmal realms? If they are not enlightened, if they do not have the understanding of the One, if their consciousness has not reached eternal Wisdom, if they have not Become the One – then why do we need them?
The Oneness pervades All. However, these Myriad Realm beings in their countless phantasmal hierarchies do not want us to know that we too are the very Soul permeating this entire universe. Why trust these myriad spirit guides, ETs, etc. if you have no idea who or what they are? You would not walk up to any stranger on the street and give your life over to them, would you? Ask yourself what does ‘saving’ you mean. Exactly where will they take you?
If we are facing the end of this Cycle of Time, as many are suggesting and feeling, then our only Refuge is a higher consciousness. Use this time wisely. Do not waste it in fear. You are the Oneness. You are That. As they say in Sanskrit, Tat Twam Asi – That thou art!
