  1. Reblogged this on Metamorphosis Counselling Liverpool and commented:
What a fantastic blog, as a counsellor I completely agree that following authorities blindly is neither good nor healthy. Taking a holistic approach to health and well-being is advisable. And obviously you decide what’s ultimately best for you!

  2. Brilliant, thank you for sharing! Most of my historical, artistic and philosophical heroes would be easily diagnosed with oppositional defiance disorder, rendering them “mentally ill”. Where is the diagnosis for those who unquestioningly follow orders regardless of whether they agree with them or not?

Very important stuff, this is, thanks again :)

  3. I see this as directly related to rigid social hierarchies that value convention. I see the behavior represented by ODD as an adaptation for stress reduction. Hierarchies are the progenitors of stress.

An interesting aside, appreciate your recognition

  4. This is awesome! I’m sure psychiatrists could conclude my partner has any number of behavioural or personality disorders but I think he may just have slightly awkward social skills and a distrust of authority figures learned from past experiences.
