NOT fond of spiders? This could be your worst nightmare – creepy footage has emerged showing spiders “raining from the sky”.
The video, uploaded to YouTube by 20-year-old Erick Reis, shows thousands of spiders in the sky at Santo Antonio da Platina, Brazil.
Mr Reis was left mystified by the strange event.
“Still do not know what causes such behaviour, we are researching and will post the answer to the question here,” he said on YouTube.
It turns out the spiders had formed a massive “sheet web”, making them appear to have taken over the sky, Gawker reports.
They have been reported to be the “social spiders” called Anelosimus eximius – known for their massive colonies found in tropical environments around South America.
The footage has already received nearly 500,000 hits.
