4 comments on “Corporate Evil Today: How Monsanto Monopolizes Genetically Modified Seeds

  1. Monsanto (and companies like them) are truly evil. They are, in fact, killing any crops that aren’t “Roundup Ready”. Say for instance a farmer uses non-Roundup Ready seeds; if a farmer down the road uses Roundup products, they could unintentionally kill the entire crop of the person who doesn’t use Roundup.

When I worked in agricultural market research, I heard from many farmers who said that they tried to cut costs by buying generic chemicals for their sprays (products manufactured by Monsanto are extremely expensive, even their so-called “generics”), they lost entire crops because the seeds weren’t designed to handle anything but Monsanto.

So if people do start moving toward organic and other options to get away from GM, how are their farming operations going to survive if the status quo is Roundup Ready? I’m speaking literally here as I’ve already pointed out that everything that isn’t given the Almighty Monsanto blessing doesn’t stand a chance for survival.

    • The catastrophic consequences that companies like Monsanto are inflicting on the environment is not properly understood at this point. We have to support our local farmers and get rid of the patents on life. We should also quit any genetic research that has motive as its prime motivator.

  2. This PROBLEM is beyond Monsanto and its beyond just one company, the real problem behind all of this is Greed, and do not blame the corporations because guess what, corporations are made up of people and those people are your cousins, your aunts, your uncles, and maybe YOU. We are the greedy ones . read my blog post about it here: http://trylivingorganic.com/2012/01/12/is-monsanto-the-devil/ “Is Monsanto the Devil?”
